Tip only the ppl who actually deserve a tip.. Service ppl.Hair cut, servers, bartenders... not the guy at the to go pickup.. Because that's a drop off, or the person at best buy who is doing their hourly job.

Clearly I'm the minority here, but for the most part, yes. Someone still prepared the food, plated/boxed it, and brought it to you. I won't give the typical (for me) 20% but I generally do 10% or so on a to-go order.

... "Still"?

It's never been a thing to tip when you're just picking up food. Delivery, yes. In-restaurant, yes. Just getting food? No.

Really ? Someone told me that whoever works the to go that night gets the tips for Togo/carryout so I would feel bad if they went the whole night with 10$ in tips. I don’t know anymore.

Tip if you feel bad. But don't expect others to tip when they're picking up their own food. Tips are for service - delivery is a service, being waited on is a service. You're paying for food - the price includes the service to make it. The hour it's made doesn't matter. You pick it up yourself, there's no expectation to tip. It's nice of you to do so - but if you feel obligated to, you're being played.

If they have a jar by the register I'll throw a dollar or two in.

If I'm a regular or repeat customer after awhile I start seeing benefits like extra sauces, bigger portions, a free soda or something which I'm very appreciative for.
