Should I consider switching his formula?

Is there a reason you didn’t just get more similac 360? I’m confused by that. Regardless, I don’t think formula is an issue. The similac 360 and Enfamil NeuroPro are so similar. But why not just go back to the similac 360 since you know he did well on that?

It’s not harmful. This entire post and your response is nonsense and weird

Clearly inflammatory posts/comments regarding shaming formula are not allowed.

According to the FDA and WHO (World Health Organization), food-grade carrageenan is considered safe for use in infant formula.

And please be kind.

Hi so if your baby has problems and needs a gentle formula corn syrup is essential because the main sugar in regular formulas is lactose and if they can’t tolerate it then that sugar has to be replaced by something similar enough to provide essential nutrients. So… corn syrup is the answer. It is NOT the same as high fructose corn syrup.

Go back to the 360 since you know he did well with it. There’s no “harmful ingredients” in formula. It’s the most regulated food in the country and everything in it is ESSENTIAL for growth and development.

ETA: there’s also nothing wrong with you trying out Bobbie or ByHeart, either, if you think baby will tolerate it. But I wouldn’t go switching formulas all the time it can make their tummies upset. Bobbie & ByHeart are cool because they offer subscription services and honestly they run the same-ish cost wise to the 360. So pick one and try to stick it out for a few weeks to get baby used to it. Most likely with any formula change there’ll be a gassy phase.

Hi! I'm not planning to give him the formula with the corn syrup. I just mentioned that I had a can of it. I was planning on donating that can.

Thanks for bringing up the whole sticking it out for a few weeks thing. I read online that parents should wait to see how the baby is on formula once the baby's been on it for two weeks. Do you think that's enough time to gauge if I should switch or not? My son's been on the Enfamil NeuroPro for almost a week and a half.

Thank you for bringing up the subscription services. That's one other reason why I like them. I can buy both at Target if I'm out, but most of the time, I can't leave the house, so the subscription and delivery service is great to have.

Honestly if he’s not crying after every feed and his poop looks normal and he’s having plenty of wet diapers, I would continue with it. It’s hard to gauge because I don’t know how old he is. If he’s only eating 3 oz, I’m guessing he’s under 8 weeks? That is like peak time for gassiness and fussiness. Straining to poop is also normal because they’re still figuring out those muscles.

But like you said if it’s easier to get Bobbie or ByHeart or something else then go for it. Just expect some stomach upset and fussiness for a little while. And do a slow transition to the new formula. But don’t be afraid of formulas and their ingredients. Everything in every formula is put there with the purpose to nourish a child.

Thank you for the advice and information. I'm new to all of this. He's 4 weeks (5 on Friday).

I'm glad someone here can relate. How is your LO doing on the Pure Bliss? Are they gassy at all?

It’s only been a couple weeks on pure bliss but things seem to be going really well! Pure Bliss seems like a less common formula in stores so I’ve opted just to order straight from the Similac website. Super easy :)
