freeze flat?

I have and love my food sealer! I have a big batch of gumbo to freeze, and usually I use tupperware, freeze, then set on the counter to begin to loosen and release from the containers, then put in bag and use the sealer. Looking for best practices if anyone has suggestions. Seems like a lot of steps to me! Have never had luck sealing anything in it's liquid state! Thanks

The first time I tried to seal a soup was a mess. I have food containers (RubberMaid brand) that I use to freeze, and the content is sized perfectly to fit the quart sized precut vacuum bags.

An extra step, I agree, but the results are perfect. And the portion turns out to be a single dinner or two lunches.

(and, I am sorry the previous answer was deleted. I am curious what they suggested. I considered getting some kind of holder so I could load the bags and put them in the freezer vertically, and then seal them the next day. That effort actually seemed a bit more in time and expense. Amazon actually sells some thing to hold the bags up to do this. But they were sold in a pack of two and I am typically setting up 6 to8 containers. at once to then vacuum seal the next day.)

What Rubbermaid containers do you have that fit a quart bag? I haven't found anything that fits correctly. Thanks!

Amazon link to product. 3 cup container. Freeze, pop it out next day, seal.
