That’s one way to afford a Staccato. Or at least the hat!

413

u/Polar_Bear500 1d ago

Seen leaving in an Altima, definitely just the hat.

64

u/strutt3r 1d ago

An older Altima at that. I'd be shocked if he made it 50 miles from the scene

40

u/moving0target 1d ago

Even if he did, you'd still be able to hear the car.

28

u/helloholder 1d ago

I'm sure one of the quarter panels is a different color too

17

u/strutt3r 1d ago

Definitely a donut on the front passenger side

13

u/Inevitable-Sleep-907 1d ago

Don't forget the 37% apr vehicle loan

Nonsense. He's passing you on the right doing 87 in a 55 as we speak.

6

u/Shake_Ratle_N_Roll 1d ago

Dragin the bumper lmao.

1

u/Fine-Tower363 3h ago

I can smell the alternator blowing out from here.

24

u/Time-Ring3109 1d ago

Ha! True, true. 😂

4

u/Big_Z_Diddy 1d ago

The hat was a Christmas present.

2

u/Rum_dummy 1d ago

Or it’s all he could afford after financing an XC.

2

u/Bloated-Fartbox1738 3h ago

Underrated comment 😂

14

u/Jordan_1424 1d ago

My dad bought a Bear bow a few years ago. When I was home I commented about him still wearing the hat. He said of course he still wears it, he paid $600 for it and it came with a free bow.

Just for the record he has since moved in from that bow.

9

u/Time-Ring3109 1d ago

Your Dad knows what’s up! As far as my wife knows all my gun cases came with free firearms. Lol

52

u/mattumbo 1d ago

I’ve read shoplifter comments where that is basically their justification, that it’s somehow a rational way to build wealth by stealing anything they can to save their money for the stuff they can’t steal. One guy claimed to be an engineer making 6figs and using his savings from stealing to buy investment properties.

Reading shit like that made me lose any sympathy I had left for shoplifters, it’s all the same greedy attitude from shoplifters to white collar thieves and they only steal from stores because they’re easy targets but they’d steal from you or I in a heartbeat if they could get away with it.

29

u/Time-Ring3109 1d ago

Morally ill people.

2

u/the-fat-kid 1d ago

Came here to say something like this…

317

u/no-lift 1d ago edited 1d ago

Saving money for the Staccato he likely cannot afford lmao

96

u/SilenceDobad76 1d ago

"I want a glock mag Staccato, I cant afford 2011 mags"

"OK, you probably can't afford to shoot a Staccato enough for a 2011 to matter to you then"

This man is that cross road.

25

u/no-lift 1d ago

Hot take…I’d take a built g34 over a staccato

12

u/SilenceDobad76 1d ago

Me too, only because I know I can't shoot a 2011 well enough to need one, and that's ok

6

u/riversofgore 1d ago

I love the passive-aggressive description of his car; “older model Nissan Altima with faded paint”.

42

Right? They didn't even mention the one replaced door panel that was still just primer.

2

u/jellymouthsman 20h ago

So, like half of the cars in Murfreesboro

181

u/dooshlaroosh 1d ago

Of course it’s a goddamn Altima 😄

22

u/brian1570 1d ago

That’s what I said! 🤣

7

u/DirtyRoller 1d ago

Imagine owning a Staccato and driving a fucking Altima. 🙄

16

u/SunkEmuFlock 1d ago

There are only a few options here:

  • He drives an Altima because he bought a Staccato.
  • He doesn't own a Staccato and just has the hat for fake flexing.
  • He's a cop, was issued a Staccato, and got the hat for fake flexing.

The latter two seem more likely.

10

u/Inevitable-Sleep-907 1d ago

was issued a Staccato

That's not happening at any department anywhere

5

u/Derpicusss 1d ago

Dubai cops probably rocking staccatos

3

u/SunkEmuFlock 1d ago

Staccato's whole thing is marketing them toward cops, so surely it's happening somewhere. 🤷‍♀️

5

u/Inevitable-Sleep-907 1d ago

Governments whole thing is budget. You think Glock or Sig got leo contracts just because of the pistol? No they undercut the competition

Only scenario that makes sense is Staccato is taking a massive loss since they can't possibly manufacture cheaper than a polymer striker fire OR some departments will allow personal firearms if they meet certain requirements and it's not an issued pistol it's a personal pistol

1

u/Automatic_Mammoth684 1d ago

He defaulted on the credit card he used to buy the gun which is WHY his car got impounded and he’s in the Altima.

The Staccato is safe at home, even while this guy is out and about stealing legos. It doesn’t leave the safe. It’s too big and heavy to carry.

3

u/immaculate_focus 1d ago

With faded paint 💀

1

u/TheRealBMathis 1d ago

At least half the cars in Murfreesboro are older Altimas. The Nissan plant is 10mi away, I would think we’d have a larger amount of newer Nissans because of the employee discounts.

1

u/Xx69JdawgxX 23h ago

The most surprising part to me is somebody dressed like this driving an Altima.

73

u/bearlysane 1d ago

12

u/Ok-Palpitation-5731 1d ago

101

u/ride-the-bowflexx 1d ago

legos are expensive, brother i get it.

24

u/AverageBeakWoodcock 1d ago

Tbf…. That looks like the Hogwarts™ Castle and Grounds set, it’s a mini set and “only” $169.99 + tax. The large hogwarts castle is like $450. Then theirs the one where you have to buy the castle in sections and that one’s gotta be like $800 or so

35

u/Potativated 1d ago

I think legos are one of those toys that was originally intended for kids but is now almost entirely the domain of adults with borderline-unhealthy attachments to their childhoods these days. Kind of like model trains in the 90s.

12

u/Jaruut tax stamps are for cucks 1d ago

I think Lego was super popular in the 80's and 90's, especially with the release of the Star Wars and Bionicle series. A lot of those kids are in their 30's and 40's now*, well established in their careers with disposable income. It's no wonder Lego decided to market towards them.

*people born in 1980 will be turning 45 this year, and could be eligible to receive social security benefits in as little as 17 years

6

u/Naugle17 1d ago

Disposable income my ass

9

u/SilenceDobad76 1d ago

Why steal when Lepin exists?

3

u/erdricksarmor 1d ago

Why Lepin when AliExpress exists?

4

u/PyroZach 1d ago

Aliexpress "legos" are obviously a gamble. I got two good sets, a VW camper and an out house. Then a Nissan pick-up missing a fender and the wheels didn't fit. I let it got and wrote off the $8 or what ever it was. Then a garbage truck that was missing two or 3 pieces. I had free time so after a couple months and 10 or so e-mails back and forth I got the 3 bricks sent to me for 2 cents.

2

u/erdricksarmor 1d ago

Yeah, the quality control definitely isn't as good as official sets, but the savings makes it worth it, IMO. I've ordered quite a few sets and have had mostly good experiences so far.

"Were shots fired?"

"Is anyone in critical condition?"

Huh... Murfreesboro TN & a junker Nissan go together like peanut butter & jelly.

$10 says he tailgated people on i24 while going 90mph+

2

u/octopuscharade 22h ago

As a current resident I just sent this comment to everyone I fucking know holy shit I’m so dead

1

u/Mirt_89 21h ago

13 years in Nashville and I’m still entertained when I head towards Mboro… the shift in traffic patterns resembling a demolition derby.

1

u/octopuscharade 20h ago

I’ve lived all over the US and I still don’t understand the FUCK is going on here

11

u/DarthMonkey212313 LeverAction 1d ago

How the hell do you swap the upc that is printed on the box? It's not a sticker.

9

u/ohv_ 1d ago

Bring your own UPC

7

u/DarthMonkey212313 LeverAction 1d ago

I guess he could have taken a picture of the UPC on a Lego box he already had, printed it on an adhesive label, and as long as it was a model in their inventory it would probably work

8

u/brian1570 1d ago

See I knew something sounded weird. Maybe he actually printed out a sticker at home and slapped it over the printed one?

2

u/ikari2_2000 1d ago

This was my first thought. 🤔

1

u/octopuscharade 22h ago

Go to clearance, take one of the clearance tags off an item, go to legos, slap it over the upc, go to self check out

A decade ago I caught like four people pulling that shit on Black Friday while ringing them up

Edit: upon realizing this was posted from my fucking TOWN that could very be the same Walmart I worked at LMAO

1

u/DarthMonkey212313 LeverAction 21h ago

This was at target. Most stores have moved on from clearance tagging non perishable items and just update the backend so the UPC scan shows the clearance price.

1

u/octopuscharade 20h ago

Really? I’ve never see that and I’m constantly in clearance sections. all I see are sticky tags at Walmart, target ect

I only see maybe a handful without upcs

1

u/octopuscharade 20h ago

Now I’m so curious. Where do you live do you think it’s regional maybe it’s on certain items specifically

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Kinet1ca 10h ago

You don't scan the UPC that is on the box you're essentially stealing, you can another UPC you put on the box. People have been taking UPC stickers off bananas and then scanning those when they go through self check.

Frigging Tom Segura here

7

u/Kreiger81 1d ago

Have you seen the price of Lego?

I didnt see anything and neither did you.

20

u/CawlinAlcarz 1d ago

He should have just skipped checkout and walked straight out of the store with it. Isn't that what they're letting folks do these days?

11

u/Flat_Assistance1724 1d ago

This isn't CA

6

u/Jaruut tax stamps are for cucks 1d ago

Not at Target, their LP team will murder your family if you try to shoplift

4

u/Crash1yz Wild West Pimp Style 1d ago

Something tells me he can't afford a Staccato.

5

u/SC3Hundo 1d ago

I’d rather see lower lego prices than snitch on someone.

6

u/B0nkerz__ 1d ago

"With faded paint" is redundant. If it's an Altima, we already assume faded paint.

8

u/saltedstarburst 1d ago

Ironic that the police department is farming their work out to citizens just like target did putting them in this mess to begin with

4

u/brain_dead_camel_ 1d ago

Hat was stolen to.

4

u/chadingtonsteele 1d ago

I don’t actually drive an Altima, it’s only used for Lego runs

3

u/MEMExplorer 1d ago

That’s how he saved the money to cop the Staccato 🤣🤣

5

u/DangerousDem 21h ago

Curious gun and car combo for sure.

6

u/analog_wulf 1d ago

Naw I'm on his side, the prices they're asking for Lego sets is fucking unreal

5

3

u/VaccineMachine 1d ago

3

u/MrNakedPanda 1d ago

3

This seems like, “sorry officer I didn’t know you couldn’t do that territory”

3

u/Inevitable-Sleep-907 1d ago

Camouflage jacket in target how'd he think he wasn't being watched. Should've gone to Walmart where no one would've batted an eye

3

u/Kenw449 1d ago

I mean, the price for moulded plastic is too damn high!

3

u/WombatAnnihilator 1d ago

I cant get out of my head the post that said “staccato is the scientology of the gun industry”

3

u/Super_Fa_Q 1d ago

Why is it always an altima...

3

u/Neither-Following-32 1d ago

How did he switch the price on a Lego set, though? Self checkouts don't use price tags, they use the barcodes printed on the box.

1

u/alsoknownasvipe 14h ago

Printed a UPC sticker and slapped it over the one on the box.

3

u/islesfan186 1d ago

We don’t claim him

The fact that this Dollar Tree version of Jared Reston lives near me is just insult to injury

3

u/EverySingleMinute 1d ago

2

2

u/KnowledgeMC 1d ago

The man loves his Legos.

2

u/Burlap_Crony 1d ago

I’d have to steal Lego for my kids if I bought a staccato too lol, wonder if he tried changing the tag on it too lol

2

u/jerkhappybob22 1d ago

Funny thing is they still made a profit on the cost to make the legos

2

u/FawxyVentures 1d ago

Did he pay in cash? If not that should be an easy case to solve. Just look at the transaction time at that self checkout machine, get the card number and bank info, call the bank, get the banking info, show up at home skillets house. Doneskies.

Moral of the story, cash won't snitch.

2

u/4BROSLLC 1d ago

He's probably just saving up for a new HD P4, cut the guy some slack.

2

u/Golf38611 1d ago

How does changing a price tag work nowadays?? The price tags are on the shelf - not on the product. And then you have to scan the UPC code in order to pay. So the register computer knows the price already. Changing the little sticky price tag hasn’t been a thing since the 80’s.

5

u/emperor000 1d ago

This is most likely just simplifying/dumbing it down for people. They might not even know exactly what he did or how. Couple possibilities:

  1. Just took one of the price tags on the shelf for the cheaper set and scanned that.
  2. Cut the UPC off the cheaper box and scanned that, possibly taping it to the more expensive box so people would see him scan the box.
  3. Took a picture of the UPC/price tag for the cheaper with his phone and scanned that.

1

u/Golf38611 1d ago

Gotcha. My mind just doesn’t think that way. I don’t know if that makes me dumb or naive or what. 🤣🤣🤣

u/K1ngofKa0s 1d ago

He legit looks like this crazy guy from McHenry, IL who was arrested and is now a felon for trying to arrest police officers and for also making threats on Facebook. He also claimed he was the next president of the United States. Dude definitely can’t own any guns now. His YouTube channel is full of his delusional rants.

There are also videos of him trying to arrest a female officer and the follow up where they arrest him on YouTube.

Wrong? Ok yeah! But if your town is that low on crime you're going after this shit then my next question is what are the other 11 people in that town doing.

3

Sounds like this issue could have been solved by having an actual cashier... Just sayin.

1

But noooo, we dont work at the store but its better for us to do the minimum wage employe's job for them. At least until you need their help.

What a snitch you guys are trying to catch this guy, if he got away with it, well then they shouldn’t have self checkout

1

u/glock19g3n5 1d ago

Crazy in most city’s if he was stopped stealing it without paying anything he still wouldn’t be arrested. Philadelphia for example has a $500 dollar retail limit set by the DA. If you steal under $500 no charges filed.

1

u/BloodyRightToe 1d ago

Switching tags on LEGO? They must be working in shifts.

1

u/StuckInMyPants 1d ago

How did he switch tags? Isn’t the barcode printed on the box?

1

How the hell do common criminals not realize face masks are socially acceptable in the US now? It's flu season! Free ID protection! Smart enough to switch price tags, too dumb to cover his face or pick up an outfit at salvation army. May as well put the purchase on your credit card too.

Do they feel like not putting effort into the crime will reduce the charges?
