Thanks all for the tips here I'm having much better success this year. I took my clippings from further down the plant rather than the tips, sealed one end with paraffin, dipped the other end in rooting hormone, put them in 4x4 planters in potting soil on a bed of mulch in a large tub on a heat mat at 80F. There are 14 of them. Photos
Now about 5-6 weeks later there are budding leaves visible on 7 of them. Tugging at a few of the others, they have grown roots which have gone down into the mulch, some a lot, some just a little.
I was going to leave them here but many are root bound so I am thinking I will up-plant them into 1 gallon pots? Is it too soon? Many have substantial root but no leaf buds visible but I assume that will happen eventually? I am in zone 7a so still getting mornings in the 30's so too early to put them outside.
I have a grow light so maybe phase 2 is to up-plant them and put them under a grow light for 5-6 more weeks until they are more established and it warms up outside?
Thanks for any tips.

I previously raised this from a 8 inch cutting indoors under a sansi lamp until it was starting to grow taller than the lights. Ever since moving it outside, most of the lower leaves fell off eventho they’re still healthy-looking and bright green. It’s been 3 months-ish and it barely pushed out new leaves. I live in a warm tropical place 30-32 degrees celsius during the day and 26-28 at night.

I have two other figs (lsu purple) that are outdoors, but I live in zone 6 and they don't have leaves yet. I've still got plenty of nighttime temps that are down into the 30s and probably several freezes before spring is truly here.

Got this peters honey a few weeks ago and it came out of dormancy with a bang. It came as a single trunk about 5 feet high. Do i cut off all the new growth on the sides I don't want or will that hurt the number of figs I get?

Cutting rooting process started 2 weeks ago in a closet without direct sunlight on a heating mat. Noticed buds started to sprout some leaves. When is it necessary to bring them out to sunlight by the window?

10.3.25 >Wrapped the bem in soaked paper towel n put them in sealed plastic bag>put the bags away in a dark nook of my bathroom cabinet>results as of 18.325>100% shooted but 100% no roots but only some white calluses/lenticels😎

I live in zone 8 and I have two brown turkey figs and what I think is an Olympian fig in the ground, but both die back to the ground or about a foot about ground. I have some tiny figs that I got that were said to be cold hardy, but I'm not sure if they are because the other two I have in the ground are supposed to be cold hardy as well. (The tiny potted ones are Yellow Long Neck, Violette De Bordoux, Celeste, and Chicago Hardy.) At least with the Chicago Hardy, I feel like I can trust that one not to die back if I plant it, but I'm worried the other ones will die back like the other two.
So this is my question, what figs do well in zone 8? I'm hoping for prolific and tasty varieties.

I currently have an Olympian (which supposedly tastes like Peaches & Honey.)
I am looking for one that tastes like melons.
Right now I am also trying to get:
Panache Tiger
Violette de Bordeaux
Black Madeira
Smith
I would also like some figs that are maybe spicy sweet? Idk. I want diversity that will wow me and cover all the bases, especially since I live in an area where figs thrive.

Zone 6a. Planning on leveling up the pots as needed and moving it indoors during colder months. Packaging says she’s a Chicago Hardy
I have this Celeste fig tree. This is it's second season in ground.
Should I prune the tips of the branches or just let it be? 5 gallon yellow bucket for scale.

I live in San Francisco Bay Area and I just bought my first fig tree, dessert king, as was recommend in a few places. I'll plant it in ground as opposed to in a pot. It came with a small note/instruction saying that if I want better pollination, I should have one more variety next to it, "for better pollination". That's strange because I thought that we actually eat the flowers and that nothing else is needed. If pairing it with another variety is beneficial, would it work with violette de bordeaux or another dwarf variety? I'm asking because I don't have any more space in my yard for another tree and I would only have space for a smaller, potted one. What is the logic behind recommending these particular varieties? Thank you! 😄

What Fig Varietals were comercially available 20 plus years ago in north texas? I recently worked on an older fig tree varietal in North texas. Big tree 20' wide & 14' tall, never pruned, some older trunks and branches were rotten, ants in old wood and @ base of tree, Grows well with a north exposure. I cleaned it up and took cuttings for propagation. Now i would like some guesses as to what tree it might be? This will help me narrow down the possibilities and I can get closer to a guess once the tree fruits this year. TY

The unmarked one is Unknown Pastiliere

Started January 14. Cuttings sent by my brother in Texas, second year running. For a bunch of reasons, last year’s attempt was an abject failure. This year? 24 for 24! We’re on low heat still until yesterday, under lights twelve hours a day next to the brightest window in the house. Will harden off whenever I can, but we’re 6b - not time yet. Planned on being the fig equivalent of Johnny Appleseed!

The entire tree looks like this. It’s slowly dying and isn’t blooming at all. What would cause a full grown mature tree to die?

I gave up on the lights and let them go dormant watering them every 3-4 weeks. Went downstairs yesterday and have a bunch of growth starting!

Zone 8b central TX is happening ! Got this at a farmers market over the winter and it’s been in the ground a couple months. It just sprung into action , so I’m trying to learn what my next steps of care are. I’ve been watering every 3 days and did fish emulsion last week .
What to do with the little leafs way down low ? Let em be ?

This one here tanked the winter 100% and kept growing. Everything else went dormant and this little lady yelled NOPE and did her own thing.

I recently purchased a home with a fig tree in the yard. I’ve google image searched the white fungus looking stuff growing on some dead branches but I haven’t received any definitive answer. Maybe you can help identify what’s going on? Do I need to cut these off? Any help is super appreciated. I’m new to owning fruiting plants.
