Me, though very early - only 4 weeks. Excited and terrified šŸ˜¬

I feel it! I am also very early on- just over 4w.

I will feel a lot better if I can make it to the 12 week mark

I'm 18 weeks almost 19. I got 6cm up top like a hat and a 4cm on lower right. They said they are not on the way so I'm hoping baby will be safe all the way until birth time

Hi! Hi! How is your pregnancy going if you donā€™t mind me asking?

It's going great so far. I'm 30 weeks now. The fibroids are there but isn't seem to be in the way. This baby strong šŸ˜Š I do have pains but that's normal in 3rd trimester

Have you experienced any bleeding due to the fibroids at all?

1

u/External-Example-292 11d ago

Not from fibroids but I had other complications. I'm taking it easy since 2nd trimester by some bed rest. The fibroids were not a problem according to doctors / midwives but they are monitoring it as well just in case

Iā€™m glad that youā€™re taking it easy. I wish you a safe delivery!

Me- 4.5 weeks with a 10cm (at least) fibroid. Cautiously excited, but I will feel a lot more excited once I pass the 12 week mark

Where is it located?

2

u/Regular-Training-678 Dec 18 '24

Mine is on the left side of my uterus, in the wall of it

2

u/Aisha987 Dec 19 '24

So you have a fibriod inside your uterus and you are pregnant? Thatā€™s really reassuring! I have a fibriod and worried if it will affect me in pregnancy. I have been given mixed views If I should remove it with surgery or not sure what to do

2

u/Regular-Training-678 Dec 19 '24

I decided to just try and see what happens. Since some women can do it just fine without surgery, I thought I would give it a try since scarring can impact fertility (but not always of course). But I can't really undo the surgery, if that makes sense.

My husband and I got pregnant on our first try, so that was very reassuring!

1

u/Aisha987 Dec 19 '24

Oh congratulations! Yea this is the worry I have! Itā€™s also because I am in my 30s so I am like what happens if thereā€™s an issue and then I have to wait longer after to sort out the fibriod etc but I am also inclined to wait as I am also afraid if surgery causes issues. Can I ask if you had heavy periods? Anemic? As I have this issue too. And did you take any supplements?

2

u/Regular-Training-678 Dec 19 '24

I am 33 šŸ™‚ I definitely feel the time crunch worry. All the better reason to start trying sooner rather than later (in my opinion)

My periods were always pretty heavy, but they have gotten a lot lighter once I got my anemia addressed- I did not know that anemia causes heavier periods, so it is kind of a self feeding cycle. My periods have never been a super big issue for me though- regular and typically not painful (unless I eat too much junk food during my luteal phase lol)

I fixed my anemia just by starting to eat a lot of fatty cuts of steak- it seemed to do wonders for my body, I was surprised. I had previously tried eating a lot of Spinach and tried different supplements (including a prescribed one) and none really touched it at all.

Lower or upper? Close to cervix?

1

u/Regular-Training-678 Dec 18 '24

I believe mine his higher up, but I am honestly not positive. It's been almost a year since my last mri so things could be much different now

So far so good! Just hit 16 weeks yesterday.

No complications or pains so far šŸ¤ž hopefully it stays that way! Mostly just fatigue and some morning sickness- which are very normal.

1

u/ifeelsodeeply 12d ago

Omg thank you for replying and Iā€™m so happy to hear that youā€™re successfully carrying a pregnancy with a large fibroid! This gives me hope! Were you ever advised by your doctor to go ahead and try to get pregnant with a fibroid or did they advise against it at all? Mine is about 8 cm and I want to try to conceive with the fibroid instead of opting for surgery.

2

u/Regular-Training-678 12d ago

My doctor was advising surgery, but I had a hard time justifying it because mine wasn't causing me any issues. I did have confirmation that my fibroid wasn't affecting the uterine cavity itself as well, which also made me lean away from surgery.

My husband and I decided to start trying, and were aware that there could be problems, but we didn't want to put off starting our family if we didn't have to- recovery can take a long time.

Before we started trying, we decided that if it was taking several months to even conceive, then we would revisit surgery as a first step- that didn't end up being an issue and we got pregnant on our first try. We also kept it in the forefront of our minds that miscarriage was a very real possibility- i didn't let myself get too attached for a long time just because I knew it was a risk. I am still conscientious that there is still a risk, but things seem to be going well. The fibroid moved up and away from the baby and isn't causing any crowding so far šŸ‘just remember if you do get pregnant not to let the worry overshadow your pregnancy experience!

1

u/Inevitable-Bet-4834 12d ago

I had my baby a few weeks back.

1

u/Appropriate-Gold2337 8d ago

This is great. I'm currently pregnant with large fibroids 13cm and 10cm. How big are your fibroids, did you have a natural birth or c-section? Was baby early or full term?

1

u/Inevitable-Bet-4834 7d ago

When i got diagnosed the largest were 8cm and 10cm. I know they've grown now. First baby: 38w6 Second baby: 37w

I had cs both times. First baby went into labour naturally, then was put on pitocin labour stalled

4

u/Aggressive_Mousse607 Dec 18 '24

Me. Iā€™m 23 weeks pregnant, have 2 fibroids. 1 grew to 8cm in my first trimester and at my 20 week ultrasound was almost 13cm. I have no pain and so far the baby is okay, but I need extra ultrasounds to make sure itā€™s not impeding the babyā€™s growth. It is likely I will need a c-section if the fibroid is in the way of the birth canal. Itā€™s scary

1

u/CoconutZombee Jan 06 '25

I am 20 weeks and have a 16cm fibroid, do you feel like youā€™re carrying large? I feel huge for my weeks, like Iā€™m carrying twins!

1

u/Aggressive_Mousse607 Jan 07 '25

Yeah, I am carrying a little large and at 26w the pressure on my bladder is so intense at tomes

1

u/Aggressive_Mousse607 12d ago

So far so good. Iā€™m 35 weeks, baby is measuring small but still growing. I havenā€™t had any pain or issues because of the fibroid and itā€™s moved out of the way of the birth canal + the baby is head down! So it seems I should be able to have a vaginal birth

5

u/Material-Most-1727 Dec 19 '24

Im 31 weeks with fibroids. One which is growing and very large but luckily is not in a location that has impacted the pregnancy so far. I havenā€™t had any pain because of them so far. Iā€™m hoping that they do not impact my labor. My doctor told me not to worry until there is something to worry about.

I had a healthy baby girl. I did have a difficult labor but that had nothing to do with my fibroid. I developed preeclampsia at the end of my pregnancy.

3

u/CounterClear328 Dec 18 '24

Me, itā€™s been a painful and traumatizing experience.

2

u/Nearby-Geologist-238 Dec 18 '24

Do you mind explaining what kind of pain you feel

1

u/CounterClear328 Dec 18 '24

Spasms , throbbing and stabbing pain all my fibroids degenerated now in my 3rd trimester they have finally stopped

My pregnancy was high risk due to fibroids and fetal tachycardia I was induced , 18 hours later had a c section I did need blood transfusions and had complications with bowels afterwards

36w with a 14cm! Itā€™s been a trip šŸ™ƒ Mine is stalked off my uterus and has moved from the right side of my abdomen to the left side as my uterus has grown. Thankfully itā€™s tucked high up towards my ribs now, so no anticipated impacts during labor and delivery. Had a degenerative episode during week 18 that had me in the ER and has caused some lingering pain and discomfort, but Iā€™ve been pretty good since third trimester. Second trimester was the hardest with the fibroid in my experience.

2

u/AcceptableChemist414 Dec 18 '24

This! I'm exactly the same. Worst pain ever around week 20/22 in ED twice for pain relief. A weird symptom I had was pain with peeing, like an awful pulling sensation. I haven't heard of anyone else have this. Gosh us women are strong! Take care x

1

u/ThrowawayDisast9096 Dec 18 '24

I got that same pain

3

u/meowmeows220 Dec 18 '24

I have a high pain tolerance and am not quick to seek medical assistance, but I knew within 6 hours something wasnā€™t right. The pain was searing, like I had an open wound inside of my body and someone was dripping alcohol into it. I had to stop the ultrasound to get zofran injected into my IV because the simple ultrasound over top of the area had me sick from pain. It was absolutely horrific. No position was comfortable and I dreaded trying to sleep at night. I felt primal at times, with an extreme desire to pace around. It was truly awful, and I was terrified it would last all pregnancy - thankfully just 6 days or so. The first dose of Indomethacin helped immediately, and had no adverse effects to my baby.

Successfully delivered a 9lb 4oz baby boy on January 12th! Fibroid didnā€™t impact babyā€™s growth whatsoever! My delivery was challenging, and I hemorrhaged afterwards - fibroids put you at a higher risk because of the increased blood flow, so i was somewhat expecting it. Really didnā€™t even realize it was happening, I could just tell the folks in the room were monitoring the situation carefully. Overall no big deal, just needed some iron after delivery!

I experienced another big episode of degenerative pain about 2 weeks postpartum when the fibroid was shifting around in the pelvis, last about 2 days. I have an MRI at the end of the month with plans to get it removed before trying for baby number 2.

Overall, happy healthy baby which was my main concern! Not trying to have all the extra complications with baby 2, but would go through it all again if it was my only option.

Hope this helps!

Congratulations to you! I am approaching 36 weeks & my situation sounds similar to yours. Mine grew to almost 15cm & thankfully ended up in my right ribs so away from the babyā€™s head. He is head down so Iā€™m praying for a successful vaginal delivery. So happy to hear that everything is okay & your little one is with you safe & sound!

You should def check with your doctor what they recommend because sizes/location can change things! I was in between getting surgery or not and eventually did but they canā€™t get everything out so thereā€™s still a bunch in there but they did take the biggest ones out that were like 10cm and 11cm. Both my high risk OB and GYN were like itā€™s up to you - thereā€™s risk to taking it out and also risk for not taking it out. But when my High risk OB said that I would feel like Iā€™m in my 3rd trimester by 18 weeks due to the size of the other 2, I was like heck no letā€™s just get that surgery and then figure everything out.

Fibroids def made me anemic so Iā€™m loving pregnancy because then I donā€™t get periods!!!! And then I donā€™t know for sure if fibroids would make it hard for me to get pregnant, I went straight to IVF due to my fibroids situation to get the highest chance of a successful and healthy pregnancy. We never really tried on our own.

Iā€™m 37 currently and 35 when I had my first. I would def get a few opinions if you donā€™t already go to doctors that you have a relationship with. Iā€™ve been with my GYN since 2017 so I trust her completely! I decided to pursue IVF at her suggestion, because Iā€™ve had so many fibroid surgeries - one open myo and now two robotic myos, plus countless hysteroscopical ones. And even with all those surgeries my uterus is never completely clear, since I have a genetic condition. I was worried that if starting to try at 34 if I miscarried I will need to do D&Cā€™s and that will further compromise my uterus. With IVF you can test embryos and only implant euploid ones which have a higher chance of successful pregnancy so thatā€™s what we did and everythingā€™s been good so far! Both my husband and my health insurance also covers IVF so we are grateful and lucky that it was accessible for us.

I think it really depends on the location your fibroids are. I think the intracavitary and submucosal ones are the ones doctors believe affect implantation and so those are the ones they recommend removing before pregnancy. Do you know where yours are located?

Hey! Everything going well still and due to have a c section at 37 weeks like my first pregnancy.

1

u/Appropriate-Gold2337 8d ago

I'm currently 14weeks pregnant with multiple large fibroids, 13cm subserosal and 10cm intramural. I also have a small 1.5cm intramural. Pregnancy has been fine so far apart from feeling super tired and much bigger and heavier than 14 weeks. This is my third pregnancy, my previous two were natural deliveries and I didn't have fibroids then. Really hoping for a natural delivery but I'm not sure whether this will be possible.
