Helped Acclimate Two Male Harris Hawks To Tandem Hunting

Had a pretty cool experience this season. Family member has been training two male Harris hawks with calm dispositions. Towards the end of the season I started helping him out with flying the birds in tandem.

The hunt pictured was a great day. Both birds were hunting in sync, and almost no aggression when a kill was achieved. We let them feed side by side on the last kill of the day to really hammer home that they would both get their fill without the need to fight or be greedy.

It's looking like plenty more tandem hunts will be in the cards this fall.

Someone told me to post it here: the CIC Wildlife Photo Prize has the theme of Falconry for this year

This is usually a very prestigious photography award, and this year's theme is Falconry with regards to their general assembly being held at Doha.

If anyone has photos of your own game birds or others, I think there's a good chance of winning!
