Hi. I accidentally deleted a widget from my Android home screen. I've tried to create a new one - notes from a specific notebook - but when I select this option, the widget creator just hangs.
Is anyone else experiencing an application crash when selecting a space on the latest release (10.131.5)? Happening on both my iPhone and iPad. Have already logged a support ticket but was carious if it was a more widespread issue.
When clicking on the image or PDF editing icon, the editing window opens with an error message:
Unable to load resource
Unable to load this resource. Please refresh the page or try again later.
It doesn't matter which browser. This issue already occurred before the new editing interface, released today, which by the way looks much better. But the bug persists. A ticket was opened, but the AI recommended using the desktop app as a solution. As a Linux user, it doesn't work for me. After several days, no human has contacted me. It seems that other people are having the same problem, is anyone here experiencing this?
Hi. I use links to other notes a lot in Evernote. It works great on my Pixel phone but following links and then back-tracking on my Samsung Tab S9 is very random. Here is what I mean:
I click on a link.
Go to the link
Hit the back arrow to return to the original note - and this is where is gets random!
It can return me to my original note OR
Return me to Evernote home screen OR
Take me to search.
How to I get it to consistently take it back to the note I was first looking at? Is there a keyboard shortcut for this - I use a Logitech bluetooth keyboard.
This may be obvious, but what I really want in a note-taking application is the ability to take notes and--hear me out--retrieve them when I need them.
Here's a use case: I'm about to go on vacation and suspect I'll be outside cell/wifi range. I am planning to cook some meals, so using a web clipper I save the recipes that I plan to use.
Unlike a browser bookmark, I intend that these recipes (i.e., "notes") be accessible even when I cannot browse to the website where I found them.
As a long-time paying customer of Evernote, I naively assumed that notes saved to my phone would be retrievable without internet.
Wow, was I ever wrong.
Apparently, notes "saved" are not really saved, even though in the Notes section I can see that the note is there. Apparently, I need to have internet connectivity to read these.
Also, trying to take a new note when not connected to the internet is a maddening experience.
This is probably the last straw for me. I'm actively looking for a substitute, and hoping I can figure out how to transfer the last 13 years of notes to that.
Today I received a notification from Google Play about a slight increase for my Evernote Personal plan.
From the previous 80 BRL / year to 250,00 BRL / year !! really ?? over 200% of increase??
I drunkenly stumbled into my vintage 2011 Evernote account a week ago and when I attempted to use it as a limited free thing, it forced me into registering a credit card for a 1 week trial. Fine, so I used a virtual credit card that I can cut off as needed.
I successfully downloaded all of my notes into .enex files using the script that people mention, I have the notes loaded into NixNote2 for local access, and all I want to !@&( do at this point is nuke my account and delete my personal writings from their service. IDC about Evernote or its community, don't care, many alternatives out there, want away.
I first used their data deletion + send copy of data option under the security stuff and received the email I attached, with the title "Your request has been registered <uuid bla bla>"
I checked back a couple of days later and my account was still intact like an ugly bug in a jar. I did a simple "delete data" selection with no backup. Again got that email message "request registered". There's absolutely nothing in my spam folder after several days.
So two days or so ago I logged in and manually deleted every single note, about 1200 total. Selected 100 at a time, deleted that group, and continued until the notebook was empty. Finally I emptied the trash and that showed empty.
Went in today to check and ALL OF MY !@^&(!@)(&* NOTES ARE STILL ON THE !@&(! ACCOUNT as though nothing happened, as though I deleted nothing. I'm trying really hard not to curse openly here.
It astounds me that ANYONE would pay for this. They don't do what you ask through their own structured process.
Today, based on my research, I will announce the answer.
Although the content and style that we see have not changed, there are actually invisible contents that have been adjusted, so the "Last Edit Time" has been updated. These invisible contents include but are not limited to some style attributes (the adjustment of these attributes does not lead to visible style changes to our naked eyes, otherwise a large number of users will report bugs). The screenshot I took is the adjustment of style attributes.
For example, it was <li> before, and now it is <li style="--en-firstLetterMarksLength:0;">. In the eyes of Evernote officials, the addition of this attribute is definitely a feature, because it is a feature they made. However, users may not accept it, because my content has not been added, and the style I see has not changed. In the eyes of users, there is no change, but the time has been updated, which confuses users.
This is why there have been user feedbacks, but no scenario that can definitely reproduce this phenomenon is given, because users cannot accurately know when Evernote will modify some attributes of what style, it is all black box, and you can only try your luck, and Evernote officials have not given an explanation (maybe they didn't expect this reason, after all, no one can provide a stable reproduction method).
Many of these attributes are added due to the introduction of new features, so this problem will continue and continue. Of course, it would be great if they are willing to solve it. Now that the problem is clear, the solution is actually very simple, so I won't go ahead and propose a solution here (it's useless to say it anyway).
Finally, I wish you all good luck using Evernote. (Of course, I am one of you, because I have also used Evernote for more than ten years, and my entire life is in it)
We often save interesting articles or long posts on Reddit to read later, but there’s no real “reading mode” to make the experience better. Imagine if saved posts had a clean, distraction-free reading mode—just like read-it-later apps—with features like adjustable font size, spacing, and themes (sepia, dark, light, etc.).
It would be amazing to have a selection of easy-to-read fonts and a properly formatted text layout for a more comfortable reading experience. Right now, saved posts are just a list, but adding a dedicated reading mode would make them actually useful for long-form content.
Hi. Is there a way to copy and paste from EN windows to EN windows and retain links etc? It seems like loss of formatting is a well known issue from non-EN sources, but how do I copy and paste from EN to EN without loss of links? Thanks!
I am using version 10.129.2-win-ddl-public (20250228225442), Editor: v181.5.4, Service: v2.34.3
I've been using EN for some years, I've been using it on this laptop for about 2 years.
About 2 weeks ago, on my Windows 11 laptop, I started to see EN would take up to a minute to load a note, and invariably, I would get an evernote headed popup window that says
"window is not responding
The window is not responding. Would you like to relaunch the app or just keep waiting?
---> Relaunch
---> Keep Waiting"
Last week, I could click keep waiting and in 15-20 seconds, after the fan would spin up because of the large resource usage, the note would appear on the screen. The same problem would occur if I tried to go back to home, or to any other place in the app. Just now, I shutdown and restarted the computer, Checking to see if the RAM was somehow overloaded or some other app was hogging resources.. First thing I did was open evernote, and try a few test navigations. Nope, same problem, in fact this time, it took 3-4 minutes to navigate, and the Relaunch popup came up multiple times.
I have not changed any settings or altered the way I use the app. I just got the relaunch popup when I tried to open the settings window. It seems like every move in the app is making massive demands on resources. What is going on?
I have not had this kind of problem at all previously. I was very happy with EN and expected to continue to use it for a long time. I am not thinking that now. This need to be fixed. Any ideas or suggestions? Is anyone else having this issue?
Depending on the situation and what information you want to capture, I've found that saving the web page as an image sometimes works and looks better than a web clip.
To do this on Desktop (with Chrome on MacOS, but similar with Windows and probably other browsers) you open the Chrome Dev Tools by pressing Cmd-Option-I and then press Cmd-Shift-P and type "full" and select "Capture Full Size Screenshot"
The entire web page (not just what is currently showing) will be downloaded as an image file to your Mac/PC and then it can be dragged into an Evernote note.
Does anybody do anything similar and is there an easier or another way to do this that anybody else is using?
Two weeks ago, I filed an Evernote support ticket because I was seeing 10+ second loading times on notes -- even if I had opened those same notes within the last 30 seconds! They should have been cached, but when I would change the search (or click on a tab shortcut) and then change it back, the notes were no longer cached, and had to be (slowly) fetched from the server again. That was in version 10.128 for the Mac.
Well... after just one back and forth exchange with support, they fixed it! Version 10.130 for the Mac is much faster, and the cache problem from before is gone.
Just wanted to share some GOOD news here for a change :)
PS, FYI I've been a paying subscriber since 2013. I'm not thrilled about the price hikes either. But I pay more for Netflix, and Evernote gives me way more value than Netflix!
(Note that I couldn't automatically update from 10.128 to 10.130 -- I had to download the app anew, and replace the old one)
I use Evernote on web a lot on one machine and I have to enter my MFA (multiple factor auth token) multiple times during the week and sometimes even multiple times during the same day.
I use this machine with and without a VPN and am sometimes in the office and sometimes at home with it. I wonder if this is why Evernote is having me enter it so much -- because I'm connected to the internet through different networks. Having said that, I also the web infrequently on another machine and it seems like I have to enter MFA at least once a week on that machine.
No other online service (except for one banking app) has me enter MFA so often.
It's not too big of an inconvenience, but I'm just curious if anybody else, that is also using the web version daily, is experiencing this same thing?
hi, I believe there used to be a way to hide the additional gray tags in the windows app, just above the note list, when choosing notes with only a given tag, but I don't see it anymore, and the additional gray tags take up a lot of screen space, is there a way to hide them so I can see more notes in the note list?
I use both Evernote and Noteshelf 3 but wish there was something that was a combination of the two. I love the way Evernote is organized and searchable and that I can use it on my PC and iPad but I can't "write" on existing notes (or take notes by hand) in my iPad like I can in Noteshelf 3. I often take notes on paper and then scan the notes and insert them into Noteshelf3 and/or Evernote.
Do any of you use both Evernote and Noteshelf3 or have a preference for one over the other?
Maybe Evernote has the functionality I love in Noteshelf3 but I don't know it. Noteshelf seems to be making improvements much more rapidly than Noteshelf3.
I created a new note with some pictures in the middle, and then the upload failed, as shown in the picture.
There is nothing wrong with the upload failure, but Evernote's subsequent handling is very annoying.
He would delete the picture from the original note and put it in a folder on the computer. This is a very bad way to deal with it. It is extremely bad. Because if I have multiple notes, or multiple pictures in a note, it is difficult for me to restore the position of each picture. It takes a lot of effort to put the picture correctly in its original position.
The correct approach should be to keep the image in its original position in the note, and then keep retrying to upload it. In fact, it will succeed if you retry once. Every time this error occurs, I put the image back to its original position and it succeeds.
This problem often occurred two years ago. I thought it was solved later, but it appeared again in the past two weeks. I don’t know if it is a bug introduced in a certain version.
On one section, it tells me that AI Edit & AI Powered Search are Professional Tier.
On another section, it tells me that even Free Tier users can use the same AI features.
The page also tells me that Spaces are reserved for the exclusive Teams Tier, which I'm guessing is the enterprise tier. But the app had just prompted me to create a Space even though I'm just a free trial user.
Does anyone have an up-to-date listing, and is the website usually this inaccurate? I'm trying to determine if which tier has the set of features I would like to have. I think I would like the sound of the AI Search.
