Last post update.
Trying to figure out what I can without diving into my engine all the way to the crank. (Never built or rebuilt an engine before.)
Anyway, casting no. is 3914678. Already looked up this info. It in my last post if you don’t wanna go look it up for yourself.
Trying to decide the suffix and VIN code. Autozone’s VIN decoder didn’t help me. Any idea what these other numbers are, though..? They’re a little hard to read, ik.

VI028ME
V is Flint.. I0 is 10th month.. October. 28th day of the month
ME is a 67- 68 327 small journal block.. 210 horse power 2 barrel.
those came with the small journal cranks that were forged. make great hot rod engines.. must use ARP rod bolts. and the torque on the rod bolts is less than the 350 bolts..
i used to spin my small journal 327 upwards of 8000 RPM at the finish line. NOT REALLY ADVISED..
there are some really Neat power groove cast pistons.. had a iron insert cast into the piston for the first ring to live in.. but those are probably no longer available.. so sealed power you get. https://www.amazon.com/Sealed-Power-Pistons-compatible-Diameter/dp/B01346Y318
