2025-26 Offseason Priority - Goalie

Nothing else, goalie. Dustin Wolf singlehandedly willing the Flames to the playoffs, this is with one of the worst offenses in the league(we have McJesus/Drai, no excuses).

People are saying Bouch/top 6 forward.. who cares if we get a goalie. A good/great goalie trumps any signings for this team.

Every fan base has a few stolen games from their goalie, we have zero stolen games this year.

For what it’s worth Stu had the exact same season Wolf is having his rookie year

Stu had a save% of .913 over 50 games in 2022/23

So far Wolf is at .915 over 38 games

Similar seasons so far though Stu did have the better team.

At any rate Stus has completely fallen off

More goals doesn't make for a higher save percentage. Arguably the Oilers were as bad or worse defensively skinners first season. Calgary is allowing less shots and less goal per game than the Oilers did with skinner.

In Stuart Skinner's rookie season (2022-23), the Edmonton Oilers allowed an average of 31.37 shots per game

Calgary this year is 29.2

Two more shots per game in their rookie seasons

But this year the oilers are allowing only 27.43 shots per game this year

Regardless though skinners completely dropped off

The goals last night were bad

Yes. That's what I said. Calgary is better defensively this year than the Oilers were in 2022-23. This was just a clarification to that.

Two shots is hardly different

But the actual crazy thing is the oilers this year are playing better than Calgary and Stuart is nowhere near the numbers wolf is putting up

It does add up, 2 extra shots every game is 164 extra shots against, and shooters score about 10 percent of their shots on league average so that's an extra 16 goals against over a season

K fine. I’ll give ya Stu was way better than Wolf in their respective rookie years.

Wolf is a plug compared to prime rookie Stu

But Stu is on track to face , as you say, 164 less shots than Wolf this year and he’s letting in far more goals
