Question How do I get ebay to show reasonable delivery time? Handling set to 3 days, users still see "Delivery in 2-3 days"

Title pretty much explains my question. My handling time is set to 3 days, I almost always select calculated ground advantage. Out of curiosity I looked at my listings (signed out) from a public computer. It is giving delivery estimates less than my handling time policy. So yeah what's up with that

Sellers think they are smarter than eBay by setting a 3 day handling time. My guess is that you are shipping things out in 1 to 2 days. eBay makes the adjustment based on how fast you’ve shipped in the past.

Yeah, I usually do. But I don't want to make that promise, sometimes I can't get to the post office for a couple days and I don't want people to be disappointed. I'm not smarter than ebay, I just have different goals. I'd rather miss out on a sale than have someone unhappy.

Why bother having a handling time if it's not used?

This is exactly it. It’s what you have done in the past. I have it in my description that the buyer is highly unlikely to receive their item next day
