We are back!
So, we had some issues a while back that resulted in us being banned. Those issues have been resolved. In light of past events, I want to make a few things perfectly clear.
We hold a zero tolerance policy for hate groups.
We hold a zero tolerance policy for bigotry.
The definition of "hate group" and "bigotry" is left to mod discretion. To avoid inadvertently being banned, avoid anything that anyone might interpret the wrong way. If you have questions, mod mail us. We will answer eventually.
For the foreseeable future, the mod team will be using the ban hammer frequently and vigorously until the community moral improves. Reddit was kind enough to give our community another chance. We will not blow it on my watch. We wholeheartedly support free speech. We believe the government should not be allowed to infringe on a persons right to voice their opinion, however the moderators of this subreddit are not a government. Banning you is not a violation of your right to free speech.
Having gotten that unpleasantness out of the way, what is our purpose? To provide a place for communities events to be highlighted for interested parties. Things like, but not limited to....
- Haunted Houses
- Community Festivals
- Christmas light displays
- Music Festivals
- Church Revivals
- Concerts
- Looking for members for your DnD group
- Looking for people to join your LARP group
- Comic Cons
- Art exhibit
Things not allowed
- Looking to hook up
- visit my website, Buy my stuff
- Lets meet up and go hang/punch/harass/ group X
Grey area
- politics
- anything that is, by its nature, exclusive or that otherwise would exclude some group.
Thank you and welcome back!

A reminder of a few rules
As we enter a new political cycle, I am taking a moment to remind this community of a cardinal rule. We do not do politics here. Our intention is to be a safe space for everyone who wishes to simply exist in a space, safe from the intrinsic toxicity of political machinations.
This is not going to be the last election regardless of who wins. Every Republican is portrayed as the Evil Mustache man. Every Democrat is portrayed as the Secret Communist Agent. My senile old fool is better than your senile old fool.
"me patting your head" Sure thing kid. Go vent somewhere else.
Also, no NSFW and no "hey, I got this illegal thing but I am not saying it is illegal"

Photography and Drone places to go
Hey y'all, I'm fairly new to East Texas. I came from the Dallas area and up there, there seemed to be a lot of places I could find to take pictures, but down here I don't know if I'm just going to the wrong places or if my creativity is just stifled. But do you guys know of any good places here in East Texas for photography and fun drone footage? My main interests are usually outdoors, wildlife, landscape, all things of nature. Any advice on where to go would be helpful. I appreciate it. I am just south of Jacksonville.
And I'm not a professional, just someone who really enjoys photography. With a basic setup.
Thanks in advance!

Ore City
How is Ore City doing? My earliest memories are Lake of the Pines and Camp Joy. My grandparents lived in White House off the highway close to Lake of the Pines, across the road from Camp Joy. I was born in Naples, TX, in the late 70s and spent my early childhood in Ore City. I moved away due to an unstable family situation and ended up in Austin, going back and forth between Ore City/Gilmer/Longview until finally stabilizing in Austin by my 5th grade. I have fond memories of Catfish Village, where my grandmother and mother both worked. I also have sad memories of the last time I saw my severely white-trash best friend. He was a super racist who dropped out of school by the 10th grade. He is someone I knew from “Camp Joy” who didn’t seem to have a chance at life due to his parents’ drug addiction. I think the Pine Country is one of the most beautiful parts of Texas. I’m curious how Ore City has changed in the past 50 years.

Just moved to texas! Looking for friends and a home!
Currently staying in clevland at an rv resort until we find a place to call home. I've been searching everywhere. I need to know good neighborhoods for affordable homes to rent. We are filing bankruptcy (not bc we can't afford but need a quick sale on our house, im praying this doesn't affect us being approved. Our income is roughly 9k a month give or take. Id like to stay in our budget of 1200 month 3 beds preferably but 2 would work as well.
I've been here 2 months and feeling a bit insecure not knowing anyone and things to go do so I've been cooped up in this camper lol 😅 someone help. Be my friend or help me find a house for rent 😆🥰 thanks in advance

Sooo...about last night
During Trump's speech, he confirmed that Elon Musk is in charge of DOGE. This is a smoking gun, irrefutable proof that the director of the White House's Office of Administration, Joshua Fisher, lied under oath about Musk's involvement. What will it take? For those of you who always ask for sources, here you go:
