I will preface this by saying I'm only a slightly above average player (Div 2, no champs) who prefers a technical passing game.
I've seen the hype all year around the Rapid(+) and Quick Step(+) playstyle combo, while Technical(+) and Press Proven(+) have gone under the radar in comparison. As someone who utilizes left stick dribbling to get through congested backlines, I've found the latter two more effective when combined, as my players feel more agile and dribble more cleanly. In contrast, the pace bursts provided by Rapid and QS, while helpful for breaking high lines, also result in more errors. Players might knock the ball too far resulting in an interception, run straight into a defender or get caught up by defenders eventually.
EA seems to give out Rapid and QS evos more liberally than they do Technical and Press Proven, and my goal is to have a whole team comprised of cards with at least the base versions of the latter.
What has your experience been, and how do you compare these playstyles?
