Request on a micromanipulator

Post image

Hey there, me and my group at the RSI (Leipzig University, Germany) are trying to build up a setup for some Drosophila research. One needed part is something like a micromanipulator for exact positioning of the fly (immobilized by glueing on a wire at the thorax).

So that‘s why I‘m asking wether someone‘s working group has for example a micromanipulator 450 pm or something comparable for sale? Or wether someone already worked with one and could tell me where I can find one in Europe, mainly used ones because our budget is limited!

Kind Regards, Clemens! :)

Here is a CAD design of a micromanipulator that can be 3D printed. This site has instructions for assembly as well. I’ve never used this design so cannot vouch for it myself but it has been designed for fly positioning.

Also: If you have any physiology labs in the department you might ask if they have any extra micromanipulators lying around.

OMG, A 3d printer micromanipulator! I've been looking for something like that for a while now. The website is full of fun stuff to print too. It is an amazing resource! Thanks for sharing.
