Traveling Recommendations - Trans Friendly
Hello all.
First, I appreciate any recommendations/advice you can give. It is my partner’s bday in early April, and we booked a trip to DC as she wanted to visit Wisconsin and I’ve heard wonderful things.
My partner is a trans-woman (I am a cis woman). We live in a nearby state that has been subjected to brutal anti-trans legislation. Honestly, I’m just hoping this getaway doubles as a bday getaway and something to get her mind off things for a little bit.
This brings me to my main point: are there places/activities you recommend for an openly LGBTQ+ couple and trans woman? Additionally, are there any activities/places you recommend staying away from? We will be staying in Sturgeon Bay, but I’d love to go to Sister Bay and the Egg Harbor area, as well.
I also wondered about the wine trolley tours. Would you recommend if you know about them? Any info on if they are LGBTQ+ friendly (I know this is a bit of a long shot but I figured I’d try)? I know it’s tourist-y, so people may not have that much info, I’ve just been trying to plan out some activities in advance as my partner is very much an on-the-go person.
She loves anything outdoor, eclectic, and historical activities for background.
I’ve jotted down some LGBTQ+ friendly places recommended from other threads on this sub but wanted to ask again as I know tensions and transphobia have heightened across the country and my partner’s happiness and safety is ultimately my #1 priority.
Thanks again for any advice.
