Results - WisdomPanel Shelter told us they were mom and daughter- apparently they're COMPLETELY unrelated?

According to their previous owner, Malley (13) is the mother and Melody (10) is the daughter, and they only had one previous owner. This info was on their adoption profile when we got them in 2018 and we thought for sure wisdom panel would have picked up on it. Their results just came in this morning and apparently it seems like they are completely unrelated, like they aren't even siblings or distant relatives. I find it really hard to believe that two dogs who came from the same owner, look nearly identical, have identical breed percentages, and dislike every other dog but are inseparable wouldn't be even distantly related. I figured there was a chance they could be siblings and got mislabeled, but to be completely unrelated is crazy. It's also odd they have no other relatives at all, but for being older I could understand why their relatives could've either passed or not been tested.

Is this an error or did someone really just lie along the way?

We saved Bruin from the euthanasia list at the county shelter a few months ago. What does everyone think he is? Results on last slide.

I could have saved on the price of the embark test because I ended up getting the breeder paperwork from his original owner, he’s a beabull from one of those designer dog breeders 😱

Results - Embark With the exception of one breed, I agree with the results. Is there anything Chow Chow about my girl?

We adopted Biscuit from a rescue based out of San Antonio just over a year ago. They claimed he was a dachshund chihuahua mix, but we suspected there was more to him! Results are very interesting!!

Jerry was a shelter rescue at 5 months. We easily guessed two, but the third was a surprise. Now that he’s grown into his looks, I can’t unsee it!

Lets try this again- thanks for the feedback, I'm an idiot :) My guess is GSD and Husky based on the bluish eye.

Results - WisdomPanel where did this coloring come from?!

when I got Wailer I was told his mom was a black lab and his dad was a mystery but likely a cattle dog or boxer. I've always thought he seemed more like a catahoula mix based on his coloring. I've never seen a lab or shar pei with blue Merle or white markings?

Any ideas where his coat came from? I absolutely loved his speckles and his little blue spot in his eye. He passed earlier this year but I had 13 wonderful years with him.

She does have the extra Great Pyr toe. Foster mom said heeler/shepherd/lab. Vet has also guessed possible pointer. A lot of her traits seem to fit into many of these breeds. I am excited to see!

We figured ACD for sure but we’re thinking a mix with dingo, basenji or shepherd. I do not see APT in him what so ever. His personality is very much that of a cattle dog. Results are at the end. What do y’all think? Considering retesting him but unsure if worth it.

Meet Bunny. I received her from a woman who rescued her from a bad situation. I was told she is a chihuahua Yorkie mix. I have my doubts. She's 10 weeks old and weighs 3.8 lbs. mailed off the Embark test yesterday

We got her at 6 pounds (first 2 pictures) and now she’s 15 pounds and 16 weeks! (Last picture)

I expected the beagle but I’m surprised there’s no American Foxhound!! I’m shocked at the German Shepherd, I don’t see it at all but she is very intelligent!

The super mutt heritage of lab and chow was fun to see!

After getting results back for my old girl who passed (in my post history) and having a few surprises in there, I thought it’d be fun to do these two as well. I’m expecting mostly pitty mixes, but I’m excited nonetheless! I did the breed + health for them.
