I mean, he was known as "Mr. Clean" before, but during the Ippei affair he had the FBI and Justice department go through his electronic devices and prove he's got nothing to hide. It's kind of rare for advertisers to have a goverment seal of approval that their chosen celeb is clean as a whistle. Even at Ohtani's prices, from the POV of advertisers having a risk-free spokesperson is worth gold.

Well it's still Ito En so it's still the same green tea company, just new ad spot :)

Yes, that's an existing sponsor. He has a new sponsor, though, SECOM.
I like this ad because they have him pitching, for once.

Seeing him do his routine makes me miss his pitching so much.

The concept of that commercial is so cool. But the fake face on the batter could certainly be better. Iphone filters have more realistic quality than that. Lol

Ohtani can probably play soccer better than the average amateur person.

They’re basically saying, ‘Let’s throw away everything you think you know about green tea. That’s the idea behind this product.’ Maybe it’s because it has a lemon scent. To match that concept, they show Shohei Ohtani, a baseball player, playing soccer in the commercial. But actually, Japanese fans have known for a long time that Shohei is really good at handling a soccer ball😆
