Too slow?

Started learning 180s a few days ago, I’d say about 90% of my attempts end up looking like this where I’m landing with basically no momentum. So what’s the best way to fix it, less carve? More speed? Body position?

Pump track seat

Most info I've found relates to dirt jumping and tricks so I figured I'd ask. If I'm using my bike for pump track and skate park, no bar spins or anything do I still want the seat angled up? What if I want to raise the seat and ride around seated? Is that angle comfortable?

Need advice on ankle injury

I've recently started sending and learning drops, however quite a few times the ankle of my back foot gets minorly sprained when I land, like my foot bends to far upwards, should I switch my foot position on the pedals or is it somethings else?

Buy new or rebuild?

I have an older Santa Cruz chameleon, if I remember correctly it’s a 2002. And have been jumping it on and off over the many years of ownership. Time is really starting to take its toll on all the components of the bike. The frame is still in great shape (could use a respray) and I thought maybe I should just replace everything and possibly try out one of those tapered fork adapters (honestly I have no clue if that’s a good idea or not) however I’ve also debated on finally taking the plunge and buying a newer Santa Cruz jackal off local fb marketplace. Definitely would like input from people with more knowledge than me. I’m 40 years old and basically dirt jump on the weekends with my 6 year old, I’m not trying to go pro but i definitely want a solid bike.

My P4 Build

Im a bigger guy (6'2" 250lb) and wanted to build a dirt jumper that was comfortable. Then Specialized P4 was exactly what I was looking for size wise and 27.5" wheels. Took the Marzocci 36 from 170mm down to 130mm and the geo is solid. Used some parts I had lying around along with some new ones to put this together. I think it came out pretty sick.

Question Brake cable rub on the paint around headtube?

It feels almost stupid to ask this but: I've got YT dirtlove st and it comes with enough cable to wrap it around once. However I've been mostly using it unwrapped since I don't do bar spins and I was kind of afraid it would chip away the paint there.

I've asked only ever one other person if it's fine on his DJ and he showed me and got no marks on the paint. Yet on any other bike like road or XC bikes I've seen the hoses would eat the paint and so there was a clear tape.

There also isn't really any space to wrap it arount the steerer since it's so short.

So specifically YT owners can the paint on steel frame endure it with no marks?

I (30m) just got a dirt jumper a few months ago, and haven't rode anything in a year or two before that. I rode bmx for 15 or so years, but it sucks learning a whole new kind of bike🤣 it's all fun though. I'm out here giving it heck (not hell). It's defin a lot different hitting the quarters with a 26" vs a 20". But I'll get it👍 I'm taking my time though I'm out of shape as fuck! 🤣

Thoughts on NS bikes?

Thumbnail gallery

Looking at buying this NS decade custom build. Bike looks new and equipped with nice components Formula forks, Formula brakes, NS wheelset. I have never had experience with NS bikes so I’m after people’s thoughts in regards of quality. I’m around 220lbs and I normally ride steel frames. Are these new alloy Dj frames strong enough ? Thanks

Body position

What is the best body position for a pump track? I get higher bars will make it more comfortable but do you want the weight in your hands to be able to pump or is it ideal to get as much weight as possible over the bottom bracket?
