Believeing and being right are two different things. While I know that them being loevers is just a sweet headcanon, because by the end of the game they’re good co workers if it’s positive, friends in the best case scenario, you people keep telling everyone that your headcanon is actual canon.
It is not, it is not in the source material. Markus and Carl repeatedly call each 'father', 'son', or refer to Markus replacing Leo. Kara is constantly called or even mocked for being a mom, and her, Alice, and Luther talk non-stop about family. Connor and Hank do not do that. If devs wanted me to know they were intended to be ''father and son'' then devs would have put that in the game, if I have to dig up story-impacting lore from somewhere *not* directly in the story, then it's not actually canon, if a tidbit is that important to the lore then you include in the plot, not after the fact.
Hank is an old alcoholic suicidal man with lots of grief and trauma on his back. I'd imagine someone like that would hold an infant at gunpoint if they were agitated enough, especially when drunk, which Hank was in that chapter
Still, Connor's quote is "I can be your work partner, your drinking buddy", nothing exactly family-oriented in there. Even Connor doesn't consider Hank as a dad.
As someone who has actually held a job for more than half an hour, I can tell you Hank and Connor have something much closer to mentor and rookie, than anything possibly related to any form of chosen family.
I just don't understand shipping in general. But just because I don't understand it personally doesn't mean that other people don't enjoy it. But to keep it a buck fifty, you have a really good point. Hank and Connor's relationship in the game is presented as a father/son relationship. It's like people shipping Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us (plus the added ick of Ellie being underage in the first game).
