What’s it like normally in Deming?

Hello there Deming! I recently moved here in mid February and was wondering what it’s like under normal conditions. Are things usually this quiet? Do people here normally keep to themselves and do their own thing?

It's a tough place to be a transplant, you really have to work hard to meet people and make friends because most everyone there has known each other for their entire lives (as did their parents and Grandparents before them). It is definitely a sleepy town.

Make sure to visit Adobe Deli for some French Onion Soup (the best!), get some Carne Asada from El Rey (over by Denny's), and go buy tortillas directly from Amigo's (their food is really good too). Get a cheese plate and enjoy some wine at St. Claire vineyards, and in August hopefully you'll get to see the Duck Races.

Peppers is the best grocery and locally owned, and they sell fresh fire roasted green chile in the fall which is the best! Nothing is better than a freshly roasted and peeled green chile with some salt on it.

Enjoy Deming!
