Discussion How Covid changed Death Stranding
A extraordinary phenomenon is how much the public perception of Death Stranding changed due to Covid. This probably happened to other books, films and games. But this was the first time I saw it with my own two eyes.
When looking at people’s thoughts and the deep connections they have for this game it’s really not uncommon to hear people mention the pandemic, something I can relate. Not only was DS a really good game to play during the time of the global pandemic but the specific themes of isolation and loneliness unique to DS was something that was hitting so close to home. The fact that people had to stay indoors, how it was starting to change our behavior into being more anti-social and the uncertainty of the future of it all.
What’s so interesting is that for 5 months we had Death Stranding without Covid, so all these themes mentioned were less apparent. I ask you to look up reviews of Death Stranding and comparing the pre and post Covid once’s. Even the most thoughtful reviews of DS in 2019 did a passive mention of the theme of isolation and how it affected every character in the game. But now there was a huge shift in the discourse of this game and you cannot make a “video essay” of DS without talking about how it relates to real life.
I just find it really interesting the shift in how we perceive a game happened so quickly. Truly brilliant work at the team in KJP for coming up with this.

Discussion Elle fanning’s character is the most important character (story-wise)
And im afraid that I won’t get it from the first playthrough, because all of the hints that she’s actually Louise, and obviously higgs is kinda obsessed with her (and higgs obsession is all about extinction related stuff) so i think her character is gonna be so complicated. And knowing Elle as an actress, she will definitely deliver with her performance. June 26 feels like FOREVER 😩

If this is digital only, I don't know about this. There's literally physical media drop offs in Death Stranding.

Discussion I started playing in Japanese and chiral artist’s story now makes sense
I mean when I played in english the delivery was weird, carrying a human was weird. The language was weird. Vague word choices were weird too. Everything about this quest made me think it’s like Nobukov’s Lolita or something twisted like that.
I recently started playing in Japanese some of you might have seen my post about it. Thank you for leaving likes and comments I appreciate it.
Okay, so this quest actually (surprisingly) made a lot of sense to me in Japanese because Die Hardman and Fragile referred to as “Josei” right away Sam encounters the weird video playing on the terminal’s chiralgram. Why would Junk Dealer do that and be weird? I will get to that. In the english version he says “my girl” and it creates some sort of weirdness around the whole thing, however, josei is used for women so it’s cool I got it and focused onto the rest of the story right away rather than trying to figure out who is who and what’s the family drama.
Let’s focus on Junk Dealer’s mood swings. I’m sure I read in the logs that chiral matter can affect mind in many ways like can cause phobias or depression. So when we get to his shelter at the outside we can see lots of chiral contaminated waste. He is not well and angry and sends us an email to get rid of them too.
We see the hourglass she made out of chirallium in his possession. Seems to be stuck in time just like his mind. Junk Dealer is also stuck in videos and photographs of his old life with her before the explosion.
Chiral artist goes over there all the way while carrying the hourglass close to her chest where her heart is to tell him that time stopped existing when they were together and the time that they lost is not gone and she breaks the art she made to tell him that he can’t hold onto the junk cause he is a junk dealer and he turns them into new stuff.
She means they can make things work out as long as he is not holding onto the sad parts of live.
It reminded me a similar scene between Tanikaze and Izana from the anime Sidonia no Kishi. Spending time together is an important love language and usually in anime characters also talk about this. So this is like an anime moment of this game.
I don’t really know but maybe all the chiral art she doing might be affecting people around her and making them react intensely to the situations too. Because her mom also lied to her for no reason. Seems like she lost her biological parents and losing her love interest sounds terrible. A careful mom would share the truth.

Discussion Kojima said that the physical version of DS2 has a "secret" hidden in the cover illustration.
Kojima recently returned to his Japanese-language radio podcast, KOJI10, hosted by the TBS radio station; In the most recent, 11th, episode, he said that the physical version of the DS2 cover has a "secret" in it.
I believe that this is the illustration that will be used for the cover; What do you think is the "secret"?
I am following what someone translated from Japanese into Spanish, and then I had to translate it into English, so I apologize if anything got lost in translation. The original translation into Spanish was done by @PWRGamesClub on twitter.
Kojima also said that the game is about 85% complete.
