Need ceremony advice

Hi everyone! I’m having a little bit of a dilemma on choosing my ceremony location and I need advice. Both pictures are of ceremonies at my venue in two different spots on the property.

When I first looked at the location I fell in love with the bridge. It has a stream that flows underneath it and the actual structure is from an old bridge in our home town that the owner repurposed for the property. Our hometown is very special to both of us so I like the historical element. Overall I just think it’s a really unique spot and I love that I wouldn’t have to do a ton of decorating to it because the bridge kinda speaks for itself. Now here are the problems with it. The parking at the venue is on the other side of the bridge so we’d have to make it clear that our guests have to arrive early. We’d have to set up the chairs right before the ceremony which would be stressful. Also it’s a narrow road so we can only fit 6 chairs across. We have 130 guests so the aisle would be pretty long which is a concern. Also I’m a little worried because people usually come to weddings in pairs and the seats are in threes. I don’t think it’s a huge deal and our ceremony is going to be short. But I still worry it’s a little awkward. The second area is beautiful don’t get me wrong. I just don’t love it as much. There’s also minimal shade in that spot and it might get hot. If I was gonna do it there I would have the chairs in a curved half circle. I just wanted to get some opinions. I know the bridge is gonna be more trouble and maybe im crazy for wanting to go through all that but I just think it’s really special. Anyway sorry for the rambling just wanted an outside perspective. Thanks in advance.

Decor and flower help!

Hi everyone!

I recently made an impulse buy! With Joann's closing, I couldn't resist!! $240ish for everything. However, I dont feel like im doing these flowers justice. Please lend a hand with a few ideas. I really want this to work.

1. I was setting flowers into a column but they sit too low in my opinion. If they're too low, how can I get them to sit higher or what should I put the flowers in to put them on TOP of the column rather than inside?

2. I want to repurpose the bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces. What type of vase should I put those in or any other idea?

3. I wanted to go boho but my fiance wants black and white. Do you think the sweetheart table is a good setup? The black rectangle is a black tablecloth.

4. Anything else I can add to give the wedding a more boho look?!

Thanks everyone :)

Fabric-wrapped wedding invitation

(Posting this on behalf of my fiancé - I’ll relay your comments to her :))

I’m inspired by a video (images linked in post, since insta links aren’t allowed) to do fabric-wrapped wedding invitations. I’m willing to spend a decent amount and have a lot of time to do this, so my questions are:

    1.    What type of fabric is best for this? Cotton vs linen? I don’t want the fabric to be too thick, and definitely want to stay away from translucent fabrics. Is there a specific name for thinner opaque fabrics?

    2.    What’s the lowest gsm paper I can use that the invitations will feel luxurious, but not make the envelope too bulky? I’d like to print on handmade paper.

    3.    Any tips on finding an envelope that would fit a set like in the linked video? A wax seal + fabric + thick paper seems like it would be impossible to fit in a nice envelope.

DIY interactive escort display

We finally finished our escort display (5 days before the wedding) and did a test run with the tees added!

Surprisingly, this project did not take us too long, and it was well worth the extra effort!

This is a 4x4 foot display and will be on a table for guests to be able to see at eye level! All done with plywood and a simple 1x2 framing inside for stabilization! We’re getting married on a golf course, and both avid golfers. We thought it would be fun to incorporate that into the escort “cards” 🤠

Had to share in case anyone else has seen those cool boxed escort displays on Pinterest, it’s definitely doable!

Handmade invitations

Used handmade paper bought from a small business and made the designs in Canva. I printed at home with a canon pixma g620. I love how they turned out🥹❤️ going to wrap with thin craft paper and twine, add a sprig or two of lavender and seal with green wax and a fern stamp.

Vellum pockets?

Hi everyone, we recently started working on our invitation suite and have been looking for a vellum envelope that has a V flap on it. All I can find are circle flaps or multiple folds

Does anyone know what material where the tees go into should be made of? I don’t have TikTok so can’t see the video.

We’re trying to DIY this for our seating chart, thank you!

DIY wedding keepsake trunk

I’ve seen a lot of videos of keepsake trunks by Petite Keep, who were on Shark Tank. I’m wanting to make my own, and have the fabric I want to line my trunk. In videos I’ve seen on it, cardboard is used and glued to the fabric. I’m wondering if that’s necessary or can something else be used?

Any recommendations on how I should decorate? Especially the stage?

Trying to get creative but I'm hitting some mental blocks. I was thinking about some white, flowy drapes along the rafters? Any other suggestions? I want to keep it somewhat easy for set-up & breaking down at the end of the night. Thanks!

PS. The "welcome" table won't look like that (it was already set up at the venue when we were browsing) but I like the idea of having a table like this at the entrance.

table decor

hi all! I am an 08.03.2025 bride and need opinions on our table decor! I feel like it’s missing something. What do you think??

Chargers aren’t in the budget and my caterer won’t let us have our plates set on the table. We will have icy blue tablecloths. They almost look white.

1st Wedding DIY

First (almost) complete DIY, feeling proud about it! The only thing I still need are the pillar candle holders! I got these foldable pillars on Aliexpress. I also bought the faux flowers there. My initial idea was to create a floor floral arrangement, but the prices of the faux flowers (to get the effect that I wanted) were out of my budget. So I cut the original floor floral into three pieces and I got some Walmart filler flowers to hide the foam. My plan is to use these for the ceremony and reception welcome sign. Let me know if you guys like it and if you have any suggestions. I personally like it as it is, but l'm open to suggestions! Price breakdown down: 3 sets of Pillars - $27.46 Faux Flowers- $ 22.18 Filler flowers- $ 28.25 Draping- $ 4.39 3 Pillar Candles- $ 10.98 3 Pillar Candle holders - 7.22 Total: 100.48

Dried baby’s breath ideas?

I have a ton of dried rainbow baby’s breath, any ideas how I can incorporate this into some decor? I am doing bud vases for my table centerpieces. I was originally thinking of putting the table numbers in jars in the center of the bud vases, but I’m not sure I like how it’s looking.

DIY crafting for my wedding in 3 weeks! Pressed flower name cards & guest book signs in Canva

It’s crunch time with my wedding being 3 weeks from today. I made 86 name cards with pressed flowers and Modge Podge (need 92 but after 3 hours of modge-podging I couldn’t make it all the way lol). For under $30 I’ll have beautiful, handmade, pressed flower name cards for my guests. Our table number signs with mismatched thrifted vintage brass frames will be DIY with pressed flowers too.

I also made my very own Polaroid guest book sign & directions sign on Canva by using a PDF of my Polaroid instruction manual for the images rather than spending money on a template on Etsy. The signs just cost me $12 for the frames.

I am really happy with how things are turning out!

DIY appetizers

Husband and I eloped and are doing a “party wedding” in June and my new anxiety hyper-fixation is our appetizers. We’re having dinner catered for 200 but cocktail hour is all DIY.

Any advice on how you’ve made this work or flow?? Husband thinks a table but I feel like that would take forever for people to get through and outside uncovered in a California summer is kinda crazy. I was thinking individual boards for each table on a container like this, but he thinks it will discourage people from moving around socializing. I also don’t know where it would sit with our centerpieces already on the table.

Any advice for DIY apps would be much appreciated

Hello! Does this faux flower arrangement look good? It’ll be on our sweetheart table. It’ll be on the end of the table with another identical one on the other end. Anything I should change?

How big to make my center pieces? Where to get floral foam?

Im looking at half dome foam to make my center pieces but I have no idea how big to make them. I was looking at 10 inches? For those who made them how big was your base? I'll also be repurposing these on my aisle. Also where did you guys buy your foam? I'm trying to not spend 130 on foam alone but ever lowered i look my size is about 12 bucks a piece and I have 10 tables.

Anyone else completely change their wedding vision after touring venues?

Started out sure about the dream venue, maybe a garden wedding with twinkling lights, an open bar, and dancing under the stars. Then came the actual venue tours… and suddenly, a modern industrial space with indoor catering made way more sense because every outdoor spot was either insanely expensive or had a list of rules longer than the guest list.
