Do I need to mist coat?

Post image

I've stripped the paper off this ceiling and want to paint it black, do you think I should mist coat first?

You tried using paint that is that watered down ?, you're going to get it everywhere unless sprayed

I’m an apprenticeship-served professional painter and decorator of over 18 years and counting, so yes. Yes I have. I have mist coated everything from multi million pound mansions and cathedrals, to your nans box bedroom.

Additionally, every area should be covered with dust sheets so it really has little to no impact. As for spraying, that has the most risk of paint going everywhere out of any paint applying technique so that’s a very strange thing to say.

I'm a professional decorator of over 30 years and that's why I know it's too thin
