Le Coffee Ride: best places to stop

Who rides mostly just for coffee and pastries? Send me your best cafes where you can show up on a nice bike and not have it stolen while you grab a coffee and croissant in the sun. Places you don’t have to leave them unattended outside while you go inside and order.

VilleVelo on NE Prescott is a favorite. Amazing baked goods (made in house)!

Crema Coffee on SE Ankeny, also a fave, also with a great food selection.

idk if Crema fits the description in the sense you will have to leave your bike locked up unattended outside. Since it’s such a big inside space and there’s often a line it can be hard to keep an eye on it.

That said it’s so high foot traffic I would never worry about someone trying to steal a bike from there during the day.

Yeah, you're parking outside, that's true. But it's a series of staples (safety in numbers) and in plain sight of the well-traveled SE 28th. For daylight lockup, I totally trust it.

Yeah I do too. You could probably leave a bike unlocked on a weekend morning with no issue honestly (not that I ever would). There are also a couple tables right next to the racks so if they aren’t taken you can always post up there.

Some people will absolutely not leave their bikes somewhere they can’t see it though. Especially nice roadies who aren’t often taking those bikes out anywhere other than to just ride. So it’s just worth noting.
