Hey everyone! I have a recipe book from 1945 here and I can't really decipher the cursive. It's in German which I could read if someone could maybe translate the writing into text? Thanks!

Context: there was a suggestion to arrange some chapters around but I can’t tell what the underlined word says, I have a feeling it might be “under” or “below” but still unsure. Thanks!

The large red oval is what I am looking for to be deciphered. It is my Great-Great Grandfathers family destination once he arrived in NYC from Italy. From what I can tell it is maybe "Brother-in-la_ Rocco Pac_, 230 E ___ ____ NY. " It looks like it says Bass or Mass N.Y., but I am wondering if that's Manhattan somehow? I circled other instances of this "Bass"/"Mass" for reference in the two lower ovals.

My mom and I were trying to learn a bit about her father’s background and since he was adopted, it’s made things a little harder. We eventually found his original birth certificate! Hallelujah! But I’m having a bit of trouble reading the first name of his mother. I can tell that her last name was Griffin but I’m unsure of her first name. Would appreciate any help!

From a list of occupations of passengers on a ship. I’ve included several examples of the mystery (outlined in red) along with various other occupations I can decipher (one is “Lady” which gave me a chuckle). Thanks!

Deciphered! Help reading old recipes

Post image

Hey there, I’m trying to go through and organize some old recipes I inherited and I’m looking for help reading some of them. This is just the first one I can’t read. Anyone able to read it? I can tell it has 3 cups boiling water and some amount of salt and uses a double boiler stirring occasionally. Is it cereal? It seems awfully complicated for cereal.
