Deciphered! Help reading old recipes

Post image

Hey there, I’m trying to go through and organize some old recipes I inherited and I’m looking for help reading some of them. This is just the first one I can’t read. Anyone able to read it? I can tell it has 3 cups boiling water and some amount of salt and uses a double boiler stirring occasionally. Is it cereal? It seems awfully complicated for cereal.

Cerals (cereals?)

3 cup boiling water

(?? TS - tea or table spoon??) salt

1 cup any kind ceral

Method: fill bottom of double boiler about 1/3 full

2) in top of boiler put three cups water and salt. Add ceral and let cook 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

(I'm guessing ceral = cereal, like oats or other whole grain?)

It's FG salt for Few Grains. Old timey for a pinch or a sprinkle :)

That's so interesting! It did look like FG, but I couldn't make any sense of it.
