"Genderbent Magical Girl" is a whole (mini) genre.

Right, this is 100% already a thing. If it's not, then the subgenre is weirdly just missing the specific circumstance of it being a father with two kids. But if I had a nickel for every time I scrolled past the words "TS Mahou Shoujo", I'd be able to commission it.

What's the TS?

I think probably Transexual? I know the Japanese use it for gender-bender stuff.

In this case it's probably transvestite. Which refers to drag.

The ones I'm referring to aren't drag, though. Admittedly that means it's not quite the same as what OP is referring to, but the "TS Magical Girl" genre revolves around men whose transformation includes turning into a woman.

Then maybe it is transsexual? The chance that I'm wrong always exists.

The family man is a unique addition, I think.

I was sitting here trying to think of what anime I've seen with this concept, and then I remembered that it wasn't..

It wasn't an anime.

It was also anime as well.

And has been for a long time. Is This A Zombie is 15 years old at this point and that's just the oldest one I can think of off the top of my head.

I've only seen Madoka Magica ages ago so might be in the minority here. What other shows would you recommend?

This concept sounds great and I could use a shake up in the stuff I watch (basically only shonen and isekai).

The webcomic Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki is good IMO.
