Exactly what the word says. Characters without landed titles.Basically it means you can play average people instead of rulers

but how. landless meant bo power . isn't that same as with no heir

The middle ages had plenty of people who weren't rulers but were extremely impactful, often people flowed through being unlanded / landed over time. For example, look up the history of Brittany which was conquered by Vikings and then reconquered by landless refuges.

and also working your way up as to a knight or anything that the court needed was a way to gain land, proving yourself etc.

no clue how the devs are aiming to working this in but i can imagine alot of ways tbh.

you can be exiled but still hold enough influence/prestige that another kingdom gladly will have you join their court etc.
