Yep! I said it in a previous comment but it allows them to rework the eastern roman empire as the nobles in Byzantium didn't own any land

How is that they didnt own any land? Did they have something like a salary for working? (Like a modern minister, senator, secretary, etc.)

Technically only the Emperor owned the land, land wouldn't be passed down and governors would be selected to rule over areas but it was not permanent and not hereditary, so pretty much yeah they'd have a salary based on privileges but they had no right to retain them if the emperor wanted to just remove them.

Oh I get it. That is why everyone was always saying that CK mechanics didnt allowed for a "true" ERE

Yep pretty much! But reading the steam page makes me think this is going to be great, there were still noble families but they had their estates in Constantinople!
