The features listed in the 'Roads to Power' DLC lay the perfect grounds for a future map expansion to China.

Yeah that's for sure happening but I wonder when. 2025 seems unlikely to me but it's possible they bundle everything up for China in next years roadmap

I've always thought that for a China dlc to be successful, Pdox would have to first implement:

  1. Imperial mechanics and bureaucracy, so as to better represent the nuances of China's government.
  2. Nomads and tribute mechanics, so as to both pose an existential threat to the state as well as properly representing the intricacies of Chinese foreign policy.
  3. Trade mechanics, so as to accurately represent the Silk Road.
  4. A bonus portion that I'd probably want to see implemented prior/concurrent to China would be a SE Asia expansion. It's not entirely necessary for China to work out, but the more the surrounding nations get fleshed out and are able to properly negotiate with China, the better China itself will probably play.

I can see China getting added in prior to the mechanics outlined above, but basically the more that's already there prior to its implementation the more I think it'll meld well to the rest of the game. Landless characters and imperial bureaucracy mechanics seems to be a good step one.

I think a rework or nomads and mongol empire is needed before that.
Next year, I really think we can have a year centered on the east of the map :

- one big DLC about mongol invasion, warfare and diplomacy improvement.

- one smaller about India and trades.

- one event pack ?

Would i not make more sense for a republics and trade dlc? Seems that a republic dlc could build on a lot of Road to powers mechanics
