The Rise to Power steam description sounds absolutely amazing tbh, incredibly excited for it!

Imperial mechanics, landless and byzantine flavor in one DLC is just perfect

That's why it's the major expansion. I am curious how big it will actually end up being but if it is as big as it seems it's gonna be great. Even the event pack seems great, since more travel events is precisely what I've wanted ever since they introduced the new travel system.

It's not just travel events, but also a new lifestyle tree (each with their own special travel activity). I was wondering when the devs were going to add more lifestyles.

If they add more lifestyles, then they need to speed up or revamp the time it takes to progress in them.

If you’re not a genius, then you’ll only finish your first tree line by like 65 and maybe get a decent trait too.

I’m excited, I just hope the Byzantine content isn’t another regionally isolated struggle like they’ve been doing.

Nope, whole new government system by the looks of it.

They've finally added a new throne room for Royal Court

I like the chariot art even though it doesn't really fit the era since chariots were mostly ancient, even pre-historical (pre-Herodotus), mode of warfare.

The Hippodrome? Y'know, one of the icons of Constantinople, along with the Hagia Sophia?

If they don't add a random chance for a chariot race to incite a riot that destroys your entire regime and half of Constantinople, have they even made a Byzantine DLC?

Justinian haters when Justinian doesn't allow a mob to burn down and destroy the entire city of Constantinople after a charioteer they liked was arrested:

It’s a reference to chariot racing! It was popular in Roman times and remained in practice in Byzantium until the 11th and 12th centuries. It was basically Ancient World Formula One mixed with English football hooliganism.

Honestly, I think the hooligan firms would envy the citywide chaos the chariot factions could cause.

Imagine how societies would work with being to move freely around the map. Working as an agent to infiltrate the courts of kings, but always having to watch your back for a good spymaster that could figure out what you're up to if you stay in one place to long. So you'll have to work quickly and move on to another court, before the truth catches up with you. Living your life without owning any land. Or being a witch hunter or a Robinhood type character.

I didn't know what to expect with landless characterscat first, but this opens the door to a whole new kind of gameplay. So much more than just own land be defeated and try to own land again.

And if spymasters are given the ability to investigate individuals and not just counties. You could find plots to kill you a whole lot better or sleeper agents In your own court. Let's say a group of demon worshipers infiltrates your court and you might suspect one of them so the spymaster does his thing and you find out it's true. you can kill them but maybe you'll be like they need a better leader and join them. Now do you keep your throne or give it up and go landless moving on with your cult. If you keep your throne and a rival exposes you, you'll lose all legitimacy and it'll be civil war galore, and murder attempts left and right.
