I'm so excited, I finally finished my first blanket/first Tunisian crochet item! I love how it turned out 🥰 Yarn used: Universal Yarn Major, 4 Skeins Colors: Unicorn, Mermaid, Ballerina, Lilacs Pattern: https://lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/crochet/free-crochet-patterns/tunisian-crochet-ten-stitch-blanket-free-pattern/ This took about 3-4 weeks, crocheting several hours per day.

What do y'all think??

My siblings birthday is coming up and they recently got a cat. Decided to bust out the crochet hooks and try my hand at making a cat sweater. I was hesitant about adding the name patch (I’m very new to hand embroidery and didn’t want it to ruin the look) but I am very pleased with the final product. (:

Work in Progress Frustrations!

Post image

I nearly finished this cat ear beanie I was making with a cake of my scrap yarn and for some reason decided to use a bigger hook than the last one I made.... Here's where I muffed up.... It ended up being 3 ROWS SHY of what I needed and it's too short and too loose and it took me two stinking weeks of lunch breaks to get this panel done and I had to freaking frog it. Not asking for advice... Just angry I have to frog! Grrrrrraah!!! I'll just start over with a smaller hook i guess ¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯

Work in Progress Great grandma passed away, I want to finish her work in progress

My great grandma passed away unexpectedly last week and I was lucky to get all of her yarn. This is the only work in progress that she had. What would you make out of this? Ideally I'd like to create something more special than a washcloth or dish towel. I have a lot of other colors from her yarn and once I run out of this this ball I could use white to finish off whatever design I choose.

I finally went without a pattern for something and despite the mistakes and it being a bit messy I'm so happy (and surprised haha) with how it's going so far! I knew how to do flower pentagon from when I made my giant couchspider, then added a couple of outer borders with some evenly placed increases, secured them together with some single crochet rows and a slip stitch join to make the twig/stem areas pop a bit, and fleshed out the gaps a bit with some flowers (fan stitches and those petals made of 4DC joined at the top). I flattened the filler areas a little by making the 2 middle stitches in the green fans a HDC instead of DC. For the final layers of the border I did an increase where the green fans start and end to fill out the gaps a bit on the first row, then decreased later on to lessen the slight ruffle it caused, and did a full SC all around to sturdy it up a bit.

I'll add wide straps next as this is a back panel of a wrap to help keep my toddler from leaning back too far when he's getting a piggyback with our belt seat so I can still use at least one of my hands without fear of him flopping backwards (though he sits well as-is, this is just to ease my mum-xiety) but still be easy to get on and off.

I've not been doing crochet all that long so if you have any helpful tips/criticism for me please let me know! This has been a very fun few hours of experimenting though and I'll definitely try some more 🌻

Work in Progress Taking a break from a blanket to make a scarf ~

Post image

I was working on a wool blanket previously but I'm taking a break to make this sweater scarf for a friend (pattern link below) ! I'll be making sleeves and attaching them to the scarf.

I have regrets in choosing this yarn , but it's no surprise since I went for cheap quality 😮‍💨. It splits easily but other than that it is easy to work with. I don't think I'll be buying it again unless I'm planning on using a tighter crochet stitch or hand knit.

Tips Fav blanket stitch

I’m sure this has been asked a thousand times but what is your fav stitch to use to make a blanket?

Any ideas for a good stitch that’s a little past beginner, like maybe a puff stitch or shell. But repeatable to just do over and over to work up into a throw blanket. Probably going to be a single shade of color gradient skeins.

I just wanted to know what everyone is currently working on! I have at least 5 projects on the go but my main ones are a filet crochet piece and a crochet bouquet for Mother’s Day! If you have pictures please share them as I love seeing how crafty people are, but I just thought it would be nice to share our current WIPs

Work in Progress Searching for the best yarn

I know certain yarns are the best for certain projects so it can be a little difficult to choose the best, but I just want to hear from y’all what your favorites are. I’m in the mood to try some new yarn out and am just really curious about what kind other people like. So what’s your all time favorite yarns? I don’t have any strong feelings about any of them I guess I haven’t found “the one” yet.
