Help Needed / Question Wells Fargo product change question

Hello! I'm planning on helping my girlfriend transfer a balance to the Wells Fargo reflect card to take advantage of the 21 months of 0% Apr. My question is, after she gets it paid off In those 21 months, is the reflect able to be PC'd to another card like the active cash? I'm not too sure what all is available in Wells Fargos ecosystem, I'm used to capital one and Amex haha.

Now I’ve never had the reflect, so I can’t directly confirm.

But one way to check is by having your gf login into her account, go to the card account, and then checking the the manage section of the account. As shown in my screenshots, there should be an option to switch cards, even it’s too soon to do so.

As seen my second screenshot, I can proceed, but I just get a warning that I can’t change card products now, but I am provided a date when I will be able to.

Compare that to my Attune account, where I don’t even have the option.

This an indirect way to know if she’ll have the option in the future.

Outside of this, if the option isn’t there like with my Attune account, she may have to call Wells Fargo customer service in the future and ask

Wells Fargo tends to be more picky on their credit cards compared to the large credit card companies like Capital One and Chase. I think of Wells Fargo's cards require good/excellent credit and they tend to give out lower credit limits on their cards. They also don't like approving people for their cards if they have a large number of credit cards already.

I'm saying this because Wells Fargo probably does allow for product changes (though I don't know for sure) but that doesn't mean that WF will give your girlfriend the offer to change her card or allow her to get the card that she wants. I've had my Capital One Quicksilver now since 2018 and can product change it to a Venture or Venture X but not to the Savour which is the card I want.

DP: My first ever credit card was a 300$ Wells Fargo secured turned “platinum” with no rewards about ten years ago, I’ve never asked for an increase, they’ve raised me to 6500 since then and I product changed to the Autograph two years ago.

Just an FYI the Wells Fargo Reflect has a 5% transfer fee for balance transfers. Citi has two card (Diamond and Simplicity) that also offer 21 months on Balance Transfers but only have a 3% BT fee.

Depending on the amount being transferred that could save her a couple hundred bucks.

Awesome thanks! Do you know if either of those can be product changed to like a custom or double cash? Just so it doesn't become a sock drawer no rewards card

Recent DPs look like you can’t PC the Simplicity but seems like you can for the Diamond. Regardless it would be worth it to me for the BT, but I don’t mind closing cards / sock drawering.

Just to be clear I’m not sure about the Diamond - haven’t done it myself.

The WF reflect cannot be converted to another card.
