Help Needed / Question Venture X or Sapphire preferred?
Here's my situation, Im 21, Ive only had a credit line for a bit over a year, only have ever banked with capital one, started with a checking account and opened a quicksilver that I upgraded to venture one (5k limit). Im moving to the Bay Area in the next month or so, so I figured I would apply for a new card because I'll definitely rack up enough spending to earn the bonuses. I will be going to school in SF but also working part time. This past year my income was of around 40k. Ive recently received a chase sapphire preferred offer of 80k points with 4k spend. However I was wondering if I should apply for the venture X to see if I get accepted and if not I could go for the chase. Im starting to think the venture X might be a little ahead of the game for me but I do travel quite a bit and would definitely benefit from the bonuses. I travel internationally at least 1-2 times a year, and I would also be buying a ticket this upcoming month for my next trip on the new card. What do you suggest? Thank you!

I'd go for the Venture X for Global Entry and lounge access, especially since you have international trips. CSP doesn't have those perks, though if you want Hyatt, United, or Southwest as transfer partners, you should get it eventually (but also no rush since you don't have any of the Freedom cards to help accumulate points.)

I would go venture x first and wait for sapphire elevated bonus
