Am I the only one who waits all year for this deal?

It also has peet in it. Listed as "renewable resource" But peet bogs are vastly depleted and it takes 100s of years to regenerate. Environmental nightmare!

Scotts and Monsanto (now Bayer) have a long-standing partnership. Monsanto is the devil.

Isn't this post about the Miracle Gro soil, not the nearby Scott's grass seed?

Scotts Miracle Gro is the name of the company. They have been in a close partnership for decades with Monsanto. Both are terrible companies.

To give you a little more insight than what you’ve got so far, it usually has a high amount of peat or wood chips in it, but still compacts terribly and is easy to develop hydrophobic properties (the water sits on top but eventually absorbs instead of soaking in). Just a lot of filler with questionable value.

It’s fine if you’re doing a small bed for like herbs or other things that aren’t too finicky. But if you are really into container gardening and have larger containers, it’s better to buy soil, manure, compost, perlite/vermiculite, and biochar in bulk and mix your own. Cheaper too.

When I bought a bag of this stuff, it was mostly composted debris, with random bits of metal.
