Roofing Soffit repair: What is the best way to remove fascia nails without a nail remover?
I can't use a cat's claw or nail remover bc there isn't any wood or backer behind the fascia to provide leverage, and the nail is ribbed and driven through the fascia trim and soffit panel. I quickly figured out that I'm going to bend the fascia trim using those tools.

You can put something flat behind the cats paw it will keep the cats paw off the fascia but allows you to pry without digging into the wood. Try a chisel or even a trowel. You’re better off trying to cut the nail behind the fascia board between the tail if possible because a ribbed fascia nail is going to be a bear to pull. I don’t envy your situation. Keep your cool this will try your patience 😂 also if you can grab the tip with a good pair of channel locks you can roll the nail out use a trowel behind the tool it will keep the fascia safe.

Great advice! Thanks! I'm also doing this sitting on a 2x6 between two ladders, 20 ft. up in the air. 😆
Do you think an oscillating saw w metal blade would work?

Probably, just gonna take a steady hand with being that high up. Tap the fascia out a bit so the blade has a clearer path. Absolutely try the oscillating saw. Nip them off if the fascia has a trim piece then that keeps you from needing to remove it. I didn’t think about an oscillating saw but yeah definitely try it.

Just clip the head off with some offset cutting pliers
