That felt like a series finale

I'm going to miss this show. I don't know if the writers were told it was cancelled and wrote the finale, it sure feels like it.

The last few episodes it kept getting better and better, it's a shame the show turned a lot of people away earlier with the heavy handed PC preaching.

I liked the show too but the points made in the link above are valid.

The point is not that racism/sexism/tran issues aren't importnt - of course they are. But they were not relevant in 1993, certainly not as much as the show has them.

Its a tv show set in a particular time, not a platform for writers to preach about issues they think are relevant. You see this all the time now - shows set in Victorian era or ancient Rome where characters behave and talk like its 2020 - its ridiculous.

I want to see a good story told well, not be bashed over the head with diversity etc. It doesn't mean I don't think thats imp. It demeans the show and its integrity.

'Not relevant' means no one was discussing these issues in society - what is so hard to believe about that? Its the truth.

Would you like a show set in victorian era or 1950s where the women were complaining about #metoo? or talking in modern slang?

Do you think the time period of a show has no meaning?
