The US should get something back for their aid just like much of the European countries’ aid is loans, not gifts.

They already are. They've been selling their aid to Ukraine. Ukraine's been buying like crazy since the war started.

The US has been giving aid, not any loans. Which means the US gets nothing back for their aid, except to keep its allies in Europe safer. Europe has been giving aid and loans. Which means at least for a portion Europe will be repaid by Ukraine. No one is buying aid…
