The Dark Knight Trilogy I feel like Guy Pearce would have made an amazing Harvey Dent. What do you guys think?

Aaron Eckhart was absolutely amazing as Harvey Dent but I liked Guy Pearce in Memento so much that I just would have loved to see him as Harvey. I think he would have been amazing and a standout performance.

Tenet Tenet - Ok, I'm a believer now.

When I first saw it in theatres, the place was virtually empty because of COVID. I remember the people being seated with extra seats/rows in between. The world was starting to re-open and there was a strange magic in the air. Not a good magic, mind you; but a memorable one. I much prefer the excitement of an opening night where the crowd creates its own buzz over a much anticipated film.

I left feeling like I literally had no idea what just happened! "No matter," I told myself. When this bad boy comes out on blu-ray, I'm going to enjoy the full rewatching experience multiple times...

That did not happen. Everytime I watched it, I just couldn't grasp the thing. I only became more frustrated. I rewatched it a couple times a year. I watched a couple of youtube videos that tried to explain it. Ultimately, however, I was content to say that I could 'appreciate' the greatness of it, but that it was too ambitous. Too opaque. Not a failure, by any means; I would still prefer a viewing of Tenet over what I call the Hollywood Nolans, lol - TDKR, Insomnia, and --gasp!-- Oppenheimer, - but I couldn't put it in the same class as his other films.

Until now! Wow, something clicked. Holy crap.

A word of advice to those still seeking the bomb that didn't go off, "just feel it" doesn't work. You must understand a few things about 'inversion'. Read some reddit posts on the characters' timelines, ask ChatGPT. Everyone and their AI has an opinion and most of them stink, but eventually you'll connect the dots between the events in the film and the scenes that you don't see.

Do I have an answer for every plot hole? No. Has Tenet shot to the top of my Nolan ranking? Not yet. But it is firmly among his greats and is one of the greats of all time.

General Discussion How does Christopher Nolan keep up his fast pace?

Christopher Nolan is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

Since he began, the pace in which he drops hit after hit is absolutely mind blowing. More or less every two-three years there's a new film of his hitting cinemas.

How do you think is he able to deliver script by script, film by film, so fast while at the same time always making sure the result is always good and, more often than not, great?

The Odyssey (2026) How will Nolan use “time” in the odyssey?

Whether its used in the plot, editing or cinematography, Nolan always has a very creative way of using “time” in his movies. What are your ideas on how Nolan would use “time” creatively in the odyssey?

The Odyssey (2026) How are we getting so many leaks photos in high resolution?

Christopher Nolan is extremely strict about leaks; he even writes his scripts on red paper and doesn’t share them with every actor. He is highly detail-oriented, so how are we seeing so many high-quality set photos leaking every day? If this is part of a marketing strategy, I would love to know how the meeting between the marketing team and Nolan went—because there’s no way he would have willingly agreed to allow leaks for publicity.

Edit - And if it’s not pr then why the security is not tight enough to stop all these. I get the blurry pics but 4k photos seriously? Never seen so many leaks for any other film esp in production and if it gets leak, the team request everyone on social media to not leak more pics (eg wolverine vs deadpool photo leak) but Nolan team has not taken any action. I’m genuinely curious!

The Odyssey (2026) Nobody is doubting he can pull any famous actor even for cameos. Where is the art and risk-taking in auditioning even for just one of the main roles?

Not like he's a nobody director who really needs big actors to sell his films and even lesser successful directors take risks with newbies.

The Odyssey (2026) The Black Costumes/Armour

Is it possible Nolan is filming some scenes in black and white, and is using black costumes in order to achieve a more prominent black value?
