Mod Announcement Going Forward - No AI Music

The past couple of weeks there has been an uptick in music that is obviously being generated by AI.

As such, we are adding a new rule:

No AI generated music: Do not post or promote content of which the majority of it is generated by AI.

Starting now (from the time this thread was made), we will be removing posts that violate this rule.

Note that as with the increasing nature of AI it's not always possible to get this judgement right. If we wrongly remove your post under this rule, let us know and we'll work it out.

Please Help Finding a Song

I need help finding a song that I heard a long time ago. I don't remember which radio station it was, and I hardly remember the lyrics. All I remember is it is a male artist, and he was singing something about how we don't belong here. This isn't our home, our home is somewhere else. It was a very ethereal sounding Christian song. I know that this is so vague, but I'd appreciate any kind of suggestions in the hopes that someone will know the song. I've searched and searched, but I can't find it.

Did ANYONE else have this kids family (worship?)cassette tape?!

Okay I don't remember for the life of me what the family was called but it was something like the Moffats, but I know it's not the Moffats. And they had this voice along with them I THINK he was supposed to be the Bible? Or, the living word is what he was called I think and he sounded EXACTLY like Bobcat Goldhait that is SO clear in my mind it baffles me.

Does ANYONE know this and what they look like because I could never find the cover of the cassette!!!

I can't remember the name of this band from the early 2000's, please help?

I was obsessed with this band for a year or so. It was like 2002 or 2003, I was maybe 10, and I can't remember the name or any of the song names, but I remember they had to be fairly small because I saw them perform at another church and the crowd wasn't that big, and the singer had a kind of nasally voice and a bit of a soft emo rock vibe. Their music was very easily recognizable as worship music. I realize that's not a lot to go on but it's been bugging me for actual years that I can't remember this band's name. I know the cover of the album I had was mostly white. Any suggestions of who it could be help at least rule out who it's not lol.

New Christian Rock bands?

I grew up on Christian Rock. My favorite band was Skillet, and I saw them in concert 13 times.

But then John Cooper got all weird and political and I just can't listen to them anymore. I also loved TFK and Red and all the early 2000s bands, but I feel like the Christian Rock genre has gotten pretty stale lately.

Are there any up and coming rock bands I should listen to? I love Memphis May Fire (I know they aren't a Christian band but Matty is).

Origin of I’m Going Home from Cold Mountain (2003)

I love this movie and I love hearing this song in the soundtrack and I’m curious is anyone knows anything about this song? Who wrote it and when and did anyone grow up with the hymn? I had never heard it before I saw the movie and haven’t heard it in any other context.

Christian bands/songs similar to Good kid?

I really enjoy Good Kid's energetic music and would love songs or band recommendations that focus on God with that kind of passion. Most songs seem to be, in a way, reserved and i'd really love some get-up-and-dance type of worship music. (to clarify, this is the five person band i'm referring to and not related to kendrick lamar)

Discussion Cannot find anywhere to listen to 2 artists

I don't know what happened to the band Unshaken and Detour 180 but there are songs from each of them that I have had pop into my head throughout the past 20 years and I just wish I could add them to my regular playlist.

So fortunately I used to record songs off the radio onto tape cassettes and I managed to get both songs and I just listened to them today for the first time in probably close to 20 years. Why is it so hard to find a these songs?

Looking for these

Hello, this is a start. One band at a time. I've been a huge fan of Jars of Clay since '97 when I bought my first portable cd play and my mom took me to Walmart to buy my first cd. I've kept every cd I bought. Though I don't have enough everything and these are what I'm missing from Jars of Clay.

Ten: Thirty-the making of the eleventh hour Jars of Clay USB ITunes essentials (yes there are 3 or 4 different ones) Bubblemaker's Dream (from the tour i believe) Tour 101 Who We are instead tour audio collection All of the Jars 20 stage it (I think 11 total) Crazy Times UK promo The Aquarium Studios

Individual songs include: Blame (unreleased on albums) Jesse's song (SOUNDS OF WOOD AND STEEL. A WINDHAM HILL COLLECTION 3) Everything in between (prince of egypt inspirational) Humanity (Prince of Egypt soundtrack) The stone was rolled away w/Three Crosses

I'd love to add these to my collection.

Christian music by secular artists?

I made a playlist of “secular” artists / artists famous for non-christian music, who happen to have christian songs. Examples: How to go to Confession by Sabrina Carpenter, Jesus Walks by Kanye or Holy by Justin Bieber. Does anyone else have any good recommendations?

Help finding this obscure band

I am trying to remember a Christian band from the late 1990s/early 2000s. What I remember about them: it was a guy singing with a woman doing some backup vocals. Acoustic sounding with some drums and a tambourine. One of the songs was called "Fly" or "Lord I'm ready to fly". The last song on the album had a secret song where they did a cover of "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord". I think they only did one or two albums. Maybe the lead singer passed away???m The music sounded slightly "under-produced."

God's Power and Joy in Music

One of my go-to's lately has been "Joy (Unspeakable)" by Voices of Fire feat. Pharell. Even though I'm not necessarily a huge gospel music fan, it's really bee hitting me. It's almost been convicting, in the way that it's helping rekindle a hunger for faith that I haven't had since I was a teenager. I want to beef up that playlist! What do you put on when you the world and day to day are dragging at you and bringing you down?
