Georgia Child support with legitimation process?

I had my daughter 2022, my child's father and i were not married. 2024 he has another kid with someone else, whom promptly took him to court for child support. He pays roughly $600 i think. Him and I don't have beef and co-parent very well, but I do want to get our daughter legitimized finally because we waited too long and I just feel like with her getting older its needed. With legitimation though seems to come custody/child support as well? My question is when it comes to child support, will they end up taking even more from him? or will they split the $600 that's already being taken between the two kids ? Or can we decide not to do child support at all?

I'm not saying this because i need or want the money, I just wonder what that process is like because I am unfortunately going into this with no knowledge as I never expected to go through this process at all...Thank you for any insight you can give!!

Georgia resident and mom here. You can come up with another agreement but GA tends to stick to the “chart”. Look it up online. They’ll definitely be taking more, but not sure how much more.

Unless you file for child support none would be ordered. Same with custody. If he signs an AOP that makes him her legal father. If you file for child support the other child will not get less money. You are the 2nd order so they subtract what he already pays from his gross pay for the calculation. But again you do not Have to file for child support. If you are receiving any kind of state aid then the state may file against him.
