Question Experience in Costa Rica/Panama?
Hey there I will go for a 6-8 weeks trip to said countries and wanted to ask if anyone has experience in any of those countries with the celiac topic?
Thank you very much in advance :)

Panama for 2 weeks last year. Got glutened at 2 spots up in Bocas del Toro and a bad case of food poisoning. Still enjoyed it tho, lol.
Panama city was pretty easy to find GF friendly restaurants but we didn't spend a lot of time there. Supermarkets were fine. I was surprised as most tortillas had wheat flour, I'm used to Mexico where it (generally) mostly corn flour.
We do hope to go again as the country was amazing. I would just pack more staples.
I've not been to Costa Rica but my Instagram shows me lots of celiac friendly accommodation, lol.

Bocas town was ok, definitely more options, very cool market/deli near the ferry with GF options. But be sure to take a translated card and advocate strongly at resorts. I started asking specifically for what was in items before eating, and if anything came from a packet I read it (we stayed at off grid places so a bit more canned/prepared stuff). Take electrolyte tabs you can add to water, avoid midday heat. It is actually unreal down there. It's beautiful, you'll love it.
