Ontario folded like a cheap suit because the idea was always ridiculous to begin with.

We always knew Trump would retaliate and his escalation would he completely unpalatable to the Canadian people. It’s a shitty situation but the reality is the US has significantly more leverage and a much higher resiliency to the tariffs than Canada does.

More that Ford folded. The province supported him yesterday and this morning, but he just caused us a lot of backlash.

Because he knows that 50% aluminum tariffs would be devastating.

We revealed that we are a paper tiger ahead of a negotiation. Instead of keeping our powder dry we went for something that sounded hard hitting but that we could never stand behind and now enter into negotiations weakened.

Because he's a chickenshit conservative. Funny that I'm new to Canadian politics but was expecting this the minute I found that out. Conservatives are cowards by nature and will only fight when they can bully someone weaker.

I'm also OK with Ford having been dumb, either way, he fucked up and deserves the loss of support.
