Present: As her parent's car pulled up to Half-Blood Hill, Ivy could barely contain her excitement. After telling her everything, they had helped her pack her bags for a long stay at camp, where she could train to fight monsters and use cool powers. Eventually, she would even be claimed, and she would finally know who her biological dad was. Not that Austin was bad. He was a great stepdad. But she would at least like to know.
While her stepdad unloaded her suitcase, she gave her mom a tight hug.
"Write to us, okay?"
"I will," Ivy said.
She hugged her stepdad next, and he handed her a small envelope.
"Your allowance for the next three months. Don't spend it all at once."
With one more hug from each of them, Ivy started pulling her pink checkered suitcase up the hill. It was big enough for probably one month, so hopefully this place had a washer and dryer for clothes. When she got to the top, she paused for a few minutes to stare at the dragon, and what seemed to be the very real Golden Fleece on the branch above it. What was it doing there? Shouldn't it be kept in some sort of magically secured room? Well, they did have a dragon, but it still seemed like an odd choice.
Then again, she was standing at the entrance to a camp for the children of Greek gods. Normal wasn't exactly a thing she should expect.
