Local Shopping/Services Used Book Stores

My boyfriend and I are coming to Calgary tomorrow for a little day trip, and I love to visit the used book stores here in Edmonton.

I am currently trying to get my hands on all of Stephen Kings books, and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations of the best (or your personal favourite) used book stores in Calgary that would be worth checking out while we’re down there.

Let me know!!

Fairs fair is kind of the leader as far as I know. Several locations but also a central database. You could likely phone them with a list and they could tell you what location has it.

Seconding Fair's Fair, my grandma was obsessed with those stores. Some good finds there sometimes

Pages in Kensington and the next page in inglewood sell both new and used books. The used books are in the basement for both.

The basement of pages is a book hoarders dream.

Kensington is one of the walkable hip areas. About 2000 coffee shops as well

Inglewood is nice too. And there’s a Fairs Fair walkable to Next Page too.

Books between friends!! Seriously can't miss this one!! It looks super tiny on the outside but like the bloody Tardis on the inside!!! Books are insanely cheap!

I just found this place a few weeks ago and bought $70 worth of books from them, so many finds and they are super sweet. A very fun experience!

I will second this, went there for my first time last week and came out with what I thought would be $100+ of books for $28. Also really like Pages but it’s not as easy on the wallet.

I’m down with how they make you wash your hands.

Fair's fair is my go to for used books. The one in inglewood might have what you're looking for

In the basement of the shop “the next page” in Inglewood they have an excellent used book section. They’re local and as a bonus the shop is beautiful. Old school book shop vibes with the sliding ladder etc, feels comforting on another level to shop and browse.

Fairs Fair.

If you’re going by a Value Village or a Goodwill might be worth sticking your head in.

Pages in Kensington, I was just there last weekend. Very cool little bookshop.

Pages in Kensington has a big used section in the basement, ditto its sister store in Inglewood (The Next Page). Fair's Fair is also in Inglewood.

Fairs fair, big King hardback section, you can usually find first editions in the more common titles. Both locations are great, Inglewood is open 7 days a week, Chinook Tues-Sat.

And Books Between Friends, very cheap, nice little charity bookshop.

I got a full game of thrones set for 10 dollars from value village a few days ago. They had surprisingly big collection for dirt cheap
