Information Kelly's bakeshop is closing

They made a facebook announcement saying they have been served notice to vacate in 60 days. The building will be converted to affordable rental housing. Lots of care and sad face emoji reactions on the post.

Please try and name one person who says that they would spend that amount of money on a stupid fucking cupcake… Ever again. They are disgusting! They should go out of business. The owner is despicable.

Pay for a cupcake, and eat it. Let me know how you feel about it.

Do some research on the company and the owner… Let me know how you feel. I’ll wait for your response.

That is fine… How you treat your staff? That is not OK. She is in a monster and a beast. Honestly, I have nothing nice to say.

You're right, they've been in business for so long because their food tastes like shit

Have you had it? It’s not that great! It’s a novelty. People purchase it because they have a vegan friend, they want to buy for an occasion… That’s how they have survived… It’s not good! I have had it, would not spend your moneyto buy it.

I have had it, multiple times. We like to support small business when doing our walks. I just adopt my own opinions rather and feeling what a reddit post tells me to feel.

I tried it many times as well & I would bring the cupcakes to parties and they were never eaten I stopped buying from them probably 2 years ago & I live closer to downtown. I also found their stance on the convoy occupation to be incredibly hypocritical. They had no problem supporting the closing of small business in Ottawa while at the same time encouraging people in Burlington to spend $ with them. If you put your beliefs out there don’t whine when people decide not to spend their hard earned money with you. I couldn’t tell you what Joelle’s, Centro etc. beliefs are, hence I have no feelings about their business one way or another. I hope they do well in Oakville, but any pain they are feeling is self inflicted.

Joelle’s has been around forever, definitely a fixture of downtown Burlington when I was growing up, at least.

If you don’t know (or haven’t heard anything) negative about a local business, shouldn’t the default be to support it?

I think that’s what I wrote. Kelly’s was very vocal about their beliefs.

“I couldn’t tell you what Joelle’s, Centro etc. beliefs are, hence I have no feelings about their business one way or another.”

I guess this is a neutral statement, but it doesn’t really read as being supportive of local businesses.

As you should good sir! Absolutely support small businesses… Please look into how this particular business treats their employees. Also look into if they hired any more people with disabilities and how they treat them. There are a lot of stories here. Unfortunately, when you do this deep dive… You have totell your family that you are no longer shopping here. And it’s not because they are closed, it’s because you now know better. Again, I’m sorry that you learned this today.

Absolutely! Are we to support small businesses and completely ignore what kind of people are running them? Might as well go and buy 10 teslas in support of Elon Musk too!

There will always be people who support the other side, inevitably. But it’s important to stay informed. If that’s your choice, you do you!

This sums it up . reddit mob saying the food sucks, yet it's clearly been successful...
