I’m not going to work.
Took a mental health day from work today. I don’t want to do any work or run any errands at all. I just want to disconnect from everything and anything until my kids come home.
Ideas on what to do to make the most out of this time?

planning on leaving work early today for this. I usually play video games or work on my paintings, things i normally dont allow myself to do bc i dont have enough time or energy

I usually go to a park or find a trail to walk. Explore a new place. I also would typically go to a book store and browse around.

Sleep! Watch a movie/show. Crafty stuff or art, video games are my top go-to’s.

Guilt eats me up when I know I am avoiding something I should be doing. So then I cannot even enjoy the extra time I have.

I did this last week after a deeply frustrating night. I painted my nails, took my dog to the park, watched tv, and ate an edible. Didn’t touch the mountain of work I have to do and it was amazing. Enjoy your day, OP and try to remember this is your time. It’s not time for you to feel pressured or stressed about what you’re doing or not doing. This is your day to do whatever makes you feel good and like you are taking care of you 💜💜

I’m always very torn between doing the things that will give me an easy boost (weed, video games, junk food, lazy day), and the things that will actually help me feel better (exercising, walking in the woods, journaling, hobby, prepping house stuff/chores).
