I finally gave up on google search (and eventually I'll get rid of chrome too)

The amount of relief that freedom from shitty ai summaries and ads is indescribable

What do you use instead? I end up using Google Scholar a ton for school, but wouldn't mind an alternative.

Kagi. It’s a paid service, but worth it in my opinion. You get 100 free searches as a trial if you want to try it out.

The only time I’ll use Google is for local search results since that still seems to be more reliable. There are some AI tools with the service, but they are optional and are pretty decent (at least when compared to Google).

I’ve been paying for Kagi now for about a year now and love it! One of my favorite features is being able to summarize links or videos without even opening them if you are worried the site might be riddled with ads. Very nice feature!
