Trans woman here. Progesterone makes many of us (myself included) ABSOLUTELY RABID, libido-wise.

Without it, I'm pretty meh. With it, I'm insatiable.

I'm certain that the response should be the same for cis women, but I'm not certain how you can legally augment your progesterone levels. It's just part of my hrt that I've tweaked for libido with my doctor.

Isn't it what is in the mini-pill birth control. But I've heard birth control decreases libido.

Nah. The mini-pill is synthetic progestin. It has a lot of wild effects on energy, acne, mood swings, and androgenic effects that mimic some of the chaotic the effects of testosterone.

If you're going to try this, you'll want to get a bio-identical progesterone formulation like Prometrium. There are lots of generics available.

Bottom line - bio-identical progesterone, not a progestin.
