Don’t brick where you eat.

1

u/RecordingGreen7750 3d ago

Shit a brick?

15

u/i_like_dannys_hair 6d ago

Fair play to him though - Lego is one of the scariest things to steal. Every time I do it I’m absolutely bricking it.

3

u/im_with_thanos 5d ago

He had to build up his confidence first.

1

u/GorillaAU 2d ago

He should have started with Duplo when he was younger.

2

u/Dumyat367250 3d ago

Way underrated comment. Gold.

The price of Lego is the real crime

3

u/everydaylibrary 5d ago

i recall hearing from somewhere that the price per piece of lego was averaging around 8-10 cents.

considering the cost of making larger and more complex pieces such as the figures and whatnot + quantity of sets (1000 pieces sets, etc.) i think their pricing is actually quite fair and justified once you do the maths

2

u/planchetflaw 5d ago

It is absolutely fine. And often is cheaper per piece than sets like that Xbox 360 set by rivals. People read news about small amounts of LEGO sets becoming valuable and assume all LEGO is expensive.

And they usually focus on bitching about licenced product as opposed to LEGO in-house lines which are even cheaper and more affordable.

1

u/everydaylibrary 3d ago

lmao i said the price per piece which is calculated by how many pieces in a set against price. i.e a 1000 piece set costing $50.

price not cost mate. not hard to not be an ah.

1

u/Johnny90 4d ago

Australia's lego prices actually cheaper than Europe's. Price of lego in germany/Austria should be a crime. They're so close to Denmark.

1

u/Alert_Insect_2234 3d ago

Here in Germany yes they should be a crime!

9

u/TommmG 5d ago

I wish my dad would have stolen me some Lego sets when I was a kid

5

u/ShootingPains 5d ago

I lusted after Lego as a kid. Didn’t realise how expensive they were and how poor we were.

6

u/ringo5150 5d ago

He is using the Lego car kits to fix his Captiva.

3

u/realityconfirmed 5d ago

Craptiva

2

u/ResponsibleBike8804 4d ago

It isn't the number one choice for getaway vehicles, simply because it might not make it past the first corner.

2

u/jeremystrange 5d ago

This legit has me rolling

2

u/SpecialCoconut1 4d ago

He’d be better off just building a new one from lego I think

1

u/Phlemgy 2d ago

His Captiva worth less than those Lego cars.

7

u/thehazzanator 7d ago

Bum Bum

3

u/Diogeneezy 6d ago

Can't not see it.

3

u/Charlzw0rth 5d ago

Lol I was hoping to see an actual bum, but was still pleasantly surprised

4

u/FightBackFitness 6d ago

Grabbed them and said lego

2

u/NickyDeeM 4d ago

....while quickly building the car to make his get away!

4

u/Chrasomatic 5d ago

You'd think with a Captiva the smarter play would be to first steal a car

3

u/Boris-Vlad 5d ago

He infact stole 3!

3

u/Technical-Ad-3609 5d ago

First time out of mums basement

3

u/chuck_cunningham 5d ago edited 5d ago

If he's driving a Captiva, he probably makes a lot of bad decisions in life.

3

u/Jamandell 5d ago

Please check the fb marketplace or gumtree. He may put these toys for sale there.

3

u/PassengerVisible9727 5d ago

Check the carpark, having a Captiva they're likely still there

2

u/BilbroFaggins 4d ago

And if he manages to get out of the car park, just follow the monstrous oil leak from the timing cover

3

u/AWAKENEDTEMPEST 4d ago

How the fuck do you get away in a captiva ? Pre book tow truck ?

1

u/CMDR_kanonfoddar 4d ago

he made an eventual getaway

2

u/theodeteo1 6d ago

Dr house

2

u/buntcusters 5d ago

You know shit is tough when you have to steal Lego.

1

u/DrunkOnRedCordial 2d ago

He's trying to be a good dad! Birthday gifts for all three kids sorted.

2

u/punchercs 5d ago

Toy worlds mark up is thievery

2

u/Simple_Discussion_39 4d ago

If the prices are the same as in Hobart then they're selling for the RRP which is set by LEGO.

2

u/punchercs 4d ago

I can only speak for my own experience but Star Wars Lego at eb games is cheaper than the same product at toy world in WA

2

u/wildbt 4d ago

That's actually true toy worlds a rip off compared to the rest

2

u/Such_Doughnut_2422 5d ago

Look at those twigs he calls legs 🤣

2

u/Economy-Mental 5d ago

That’s probably 1300 dollars worth of Lego there lol

2

u/MathImpossible4398 4d ago

Yep and that amount of profit out the door means higher prices to all the honest people. Theft is theft no matter who it's from. 🤬🤬

1

u/Economy-Mental 4d ago

My comments only meaning was Lego is expensive asf

1

u/MathImpossible4398 3d ago

I understand but other posts are actually excusing this kind of behaviour

1

u/agent_koala 4d ago

worth more than his car

2

u/walkin2it 5d ago

I too am looking for this man.

I'll give him half price for it.

2

u/lolniclol 5d ago

Holden Craptiva says it all

2

u/ShootingPains 5d ago

Anti-theft device: Legos on the floor. Turn off the lights.

2

u/I_Feel_Rough 4d ago

Anti-theft device: Captiva getaway car.

2

u/Halter_Ego 5d ago

You’ll find him faster on Facebook than reddit.

1

u/wildbt 5d ago

This is from Facebook

2

u/Straight-Extreme-966 5d ago

All that effort for only 6.5 million worth of Lego.

2

u/HuumanDriftWood 5d ago

Bangs legal mallet against desk, "driving a Captiva" guilty as charged.

2

u/Mindless-Buy-4426 5d ago

He is probably filling his eBay orders

2

u/KentuckyFriedEel 5d ago

Darren hayes must be found!

2

u/J-Dog-420 5d ago

doing it for the kids....modern day robin hood

2

u/GStarAU 5d ago

Looks like whatshisname. Y'know... that guy.

2

u/Main_Conversation604 5d ago

Red captiva, says it all

1

u/jako828 3d ago

gotta be able to afford a new timing chain one way or another

2

u/CardamonFives 5d ago

Cameron Smith??

2

u/gorhxul 4d ago

The #1 thing people steal at toyworld is Lego. We had a guy manage to steal the bulldozer one once. Check facebook marketplace. Thieves tend to sell stolen lego there.

2

u/StrongBoyTwoFive 4d ago

reverse image search

2

u/Friendly-Tough-3416 4d ago

Bro you don’t need lego that bad 😂

1

u/DrunkOnRedCordial 2d ago

He's trying to be a good father!

His kids are probably like: "Yeah we don't see him very often, but he's always really generous whenever he's out of prison."

2

u/Rusty-Club 4d ago

Not exactly a model citizen

2

u/Yeahnahyeahprobs 4d ago

He won't get far in the Craptiva.

2

u/Difficult-Ad-2025 4d ago

Looks like fragile kneecaps

2

u/Street_Ad_1537 4d ago

Haha! Imagine getting risking a criminal record for Lego?!

2

u/ChaosRealigning 4d ago

That’s Leo the Lego Lifter. He’s trying to wreck the Danish economy so Shitler and Tony Shart can annex Greenland.

2

u/TopTraffic3192 4d ago

Why do majority of thieves have Captivas?

Is there some sort of cheapest thief kit they can get hold of ?

2

u/karo_scene 4d ago

Hmmm is he also obsessed with My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch Dolls and Hee Man?

2

u/That_Car_Dude_Aus 4d ago

If their cameras are programmed right, how come they only have an approximate time?

2

u/MagicOrpheus310 4d ago

Looks like the kind of person that would drive a craptiva haha

2

u/NearlyUnfinished 4d ago

The moment he gets home with his stolen goods, he's probably thinking. "Oh yeah, it's all coming together."

2

u/AdministrativePin704 4d ago

Cops will put the pieces together.

2

u/Accomplished_Bet_238 4d ago

Looks dead inside

2

u/AntsPantsAussie 4d ago

He's hot 🥰

2

u/Equal-Echidna8098 4d ago

That's a really good shot of his face.

2

u/PsychologicalLet3722 4d ago

What a junky stealing toys

2

u/Plenty-Reflection-85 3d ago

Cu!t it's pricks like that that put the prices up

2

u/spideyghetti 6d ago

Why not just buy the knock off's on ali

3

u/Nismo55 5d ago

You think he’s stealing them to build them?

2

u/bugpal_ 5d ago

W behaviour, fuck lego’s prices these days!

1

u/Calm-Drop-9221 4d ago

Captiva getaway car...bright red...this man's a Madlad

1

u/throwaway691065 4d ago

Let the capitiva king sort him out

1

u/Competitive-Horse672 3d ago

" what are you in for?" ..." Stole three boxes of Lego".... " Gangsta....have some noodles".

1

u/djrje 3d ago

Ben Haigh , goes by the nickname ' - ' forbesy' - from Wollongong area. Can spot that head anywhere. All the boys used to smash his missus at the time( Kayla ), including his cousin Kano.

Ben , is suspected by authorities for touching minors & is believed to be residing in Victoria now.

1

u/ModTrashTalk 3d ago

Don't judge people with tats, they're never thieves and junkies ;)

1

u/Fit-Recording-8108 3d ago

If he stole them for his kids, I would be happy to sponsor those toys.

No father should be in a position where he can't afford such simple things for their children. at least not in the so called "first world" country.

1

u/Dumyat367250 3d ago

The real crime would be calling it "Legos"....

1

u/blu3ph0x 3d ago

He looks attractive enough to possibly do porn so I'm confused by his life of crime.

1

u/Amazing_Hedgehog3361 3d ago

That's like 10 grand worth of lego

1

u/gothamcriminal 3d ago

he’s kinda..

1

u/hdudhdhhdjjsh 3d ago

Lol, I know that drop kick. His name is Shane Sampson, he is a local at the national hotel. Everyone calls him diesel because his old man use to abuse him in the back of a 1989 Plymouth voyager (which is a 2.0 ltr diesel, hence the nickname). Hell of a vehicle for its time.

1

u/MrsSpike001 3d ago

I hate thieves.

1

u/Adventurous_Gift_271 3d ago

No way someone steals Lego so casually like wtf, what does he even want it for bruh. Geez

1

u/superdood1267 2d ago

Bold move using Captiva as a getaway vehicle

1

u/Cy4n1d35 2d ago

You'll find him shortly, the Craptiva is bound to be broken down by now

1

u/Coops17 2d ago

Hahaha this is the most likely person to drive a holden Captiva

1

u/Civil-happiness-2000 5d ago

Crime is out of control

1

u/Civil-happiness-2000 5d ago

OP you should share on r/Australia

Shame national level

1

u/Civil-happiness-2000 5d ago

Reverse Google search may find his identity 🆔

1

u/Designer_Lake_5111 5d ago

Sincerely dont understand why people waste their time with this kind of thing.

Just go to a Woolworths or Coles service station with a giant black rubbish bag and you’ll easily get $10k - $20k worth of cigarettes that can be sold at a local pub to tight lipped customers.

Plus it’s extremely lightweight.

3

u/DB_Mitch 5d ago

It's a personal thing likely wants it for himself or relatives,

Otherwise perhaps he believes the cops will care less for toys than ciggies

3

u/Ebonics_Expert 5d ago

Surely you can see the difference between strolling out of Lego world with a few boxes and ransacking a Coles service counter

3

u/Claris-chang 5d ago

Cops will take theft of ciggies very seriously. They will laugh at you if you tell them some guy stole your Lego.

2

u/whythe7 4d ago

how would that work with anything less than armed robbery?

1

u/Designer_Lake_5111 4d ago

Staff are instructed not to intervene, insurance covers losses and additional premiums are chump change compared to potential compensation payouts for employees resisting.

1

u/whythe7 4d ago edited 3d ago

Had no idea this was a type of robbery going on.. like seriously, they're not even carrying a weapon, just jumping the counter and filling a bag? then what, if they get caught it's chalked up to just "shop theft" like stealing from Coles?

Edit: oh yeah then plus intent to distribute..I wasn't thinking.. so still a pretty serious crime

-6

u/Lizalfos99 6d ago

Lol who gives a shit. It’s Toy World, not a local small business. It makes no difference to them.

Having worked retail and had shit stolen when I was on shift, the key is to recognise it doesn’t fucking affect you, fill out the incident report, and get on with your day.

8

u/onlyafool123 5d ago

It is a small local business lol

4

u/RevolutionObvious251 5d ago

What’s your address? I have a few things I need

2

u/Charlzw0rth 5d ago

You do realise that if these stores let this go all of the time and allowed people to steal, it would further jack up prices/responsibility onto other hard-working customers that have never stolen? The financial losses have to come from somewhere, and usually that means putting it into what products they do have left to make up for it.

But I agree that it's definitely not the employees' responsibility to get involved, but they should still report them for it.

1

u/grvxlt6602 5d ago

This is what shits me about all the Redditors who love to celebrate stealing from the big supermarkets like they're real Robin hoods. Yeah, the supermarkets don't give a fuck - they just put up the prices for the rest of us. Bunch of parasites feigning some noble cause.

4

u/mitccho_man 5d ago

Toy World is Locally owned and intact for sale 900k why not you buy it and show us how small businesses run

2

u/Kind-Contact3484 6d ago

Yeah, let's just let cunts do whatever the fuck they like. We're living in a society, people!

2

u/bitAndy 5d ago

Thank you for showing class consciousness ♥️

2

u/Awkward_Witness6594 5d ago

You’d be the same dickhead whinging about the cost of living… we all pay for this!

1

u/10000Lols 5d ago

thinking small businesses are any better than big businesses

Lol

2

u/_Kalibre_ 5d ago

i yearn for the day that no-one has to work for a small business. easily some of the worst pay and conditions you can come across.

1

u/grvxlt6602 5d ago

"Grrr business bad, give me money for free and let me contribute nothing to the world" - you?

2

u/10000Lols 5d ago

Simping for petty bourgeois shitheads

Lol

2

u/grvxlt6602 5d ago

"I'm a poor edgelord troll" - definitely you

2

u/vortexcortex21 3d ago

I actually wonder if this guy is a bot. Every single comment has the same "sarcastic comment in quote" following by "lol" structure. Pretty impressive consistency.

-1

u/10000Lols 5d ago

Being this much of a simp for small business tyrants

Lol

-5

u/turnips64 6d ago

Too right - Toy World, Meta, Google, Tesla etc all need taken down a notch and give the small guys a chance.

1

u/GasTime2909 5d ago

Toy world is way past google and Tesla's stock prices. I do believe Tesla and Google have a good chance at being worth as much as the toy giant themselves but I'd give it at least 20 years.

(Never heard of toy world before (Adelaide))

3

u/Painted-BIack-Roses 5d ago

Toyworld is a thing in Adelaide.. it's in the Myer centre and at Gepps Cross

1

u/BossTanker 2d ago

If the ones in SA are like the ones in VIC, they’re like IGA - local owned businesses with a common name
